Samantha is the head Honcho
Jeff has announced his retirement from politics. Samantha appears to be the new head honcho for the Political part of the PIPN.
I would like to thank Jeff for the help and assistance he has given to many people in the past five years.
I wish Sam the best of luck in her endeavers to lead the PIPN to a resounding victory in 2019.
I just hope that La Marina Urbs is not driven into the ground by the PP something which I fear will happen, as day by day the Urbs seem to be going downhill.
I have always supported Sam, and as a Resident of the Urbs, or anywhere else I may be I am sure Iwill always will.
Telephonica /Moviestar
I am trying to cancel my Telephonica landline, but the number 1004 they give on their bills, is of no use.and the number given by staff in the moviestar shop in Guardama is constantly engaged. If anybody has had some luck recently could they please let us know as I have only a week or so left to sort it out.
Succeeded in sorting out Telefonica problem, Took advise from several people and after listening to recorded mess age after dialing 1004 I hung through silence another message came through then silence after three or four silences message started and finished and the word uno sounded ,then pressed button one and got through to human voice asked for English and put through to English speaker problem then sorted. It felt like I had won the lottery ( I am easily pleased)
Re-registering vehicles to new owners after you sell it.
Who is able to change details after selling a vehicle? I assume it has to go to Trafico in Alicante.

Yes, you have to go to Tráfico in Alicante, having previously made an appointment on their website. Before that, you need to make out a "Contrato de Compraventa" (you can download a blank one from the internet) which both parties sign. Then you need to establish the value of the vehicle for tax purposes. I used a website: http://gestiona.madrid.org/vlin_valora_bienes/html/web/VTurismos.icm?ESTADO_MENU=1_2_1
Alternatively, you can go into the Hacienda office in Alicante (quite near Tráfico) and they have got a computer you can use to establish the tax value of the vehicle. Then you get the relevant 'Modelo' and pay the tax at your bank. Then you go back to the Hacienda with the receipted copies of the Modelo and they give you a certified document to take to Tráfico. You turn up at Tráfico at the appointed time and pay the fee (52 Euros, I seem to recall). You are given a 'turno', but there might still be people in front of you (41 people the last time I went!). When you eventually get to the counter, they give you a new 'Permiso de Circulación in the new name, providing the paperwork is all present and correct. I just took everything I could think of that they might ask for, original and a copy of each.
It's really satisfying when you come out there with the new permiso. You feel like you've just passed your A-levels!

Beach.
I notice that the toilets, tourist information and life guards are no longer on the beach. The beach was packed the other day with people constantly asking where the toilets are? Also your allowed to drown in October as no guard is provided. The tourist trade does not stop at the end of September, people still need to pee. Also rubbish bags stacked in the beach entrance is not a good advert for the area.
Not mutch sense posting on La Marina Wall as the beach comes under Elche Ayuntiemento as does La Marina Pueblo(village) they do not have Lifeguards all the year round and only for summer months.
Yes im aware of that, however other places are mentioned and talked about on this site. I was simply stating an observation and think whoever the area comes under, its surely everyones responsibility to make sure the area we live in is looked after and the Tourism trade we all rely on to be looked after properly.

Cagney's B&B
i don't know if anyone can help us but we have had a Norwegian lady, by the name of Charlotte and her son Miguel staying at our B&B for the last 11 days. She was due to vacate the room by 12.00 today. The room is locked up and there is no answer. The problem is that she has both sets of keys to the room and we can not enter it. It needs to be cleaned immediately as I have the next guests sat waiting in the bar to go into the room. I have no contact number for Charlotte. Does anyone on the urb know her and is there any way i can get a message to her a we desperately need our keys back? Our contact number is 634 624 369. Would be really grateful if anyone can help us. I just had a quick week in La Marina and am completely gutted now that I'm back home and stuck in work.
I finally had some Air Con fitted after having my place for 8 years due the sweltering summer.
I'd have to say I was very impressed with The Simply Air con Team. They were on time, fast, clean and I had a good laugh with them too. Not only that but when my neighbour came out to complain about the positioning of a unit they were only too happy to re site it to appease him so that I don't get any repocussions. I would highly reccomend them.
Also good luck to Emma and the rest of her family at DREAMS Bar. We went for opening night and had a great time. We returned another couple of times and were warmly welcomed and again had a good laugh. The bar looks really smart and modern too and I can't wait to get over for another visit. Thanks to all for making it another great week.
Hillside
Rocking good night last night at the hillside with Woody as usual for Colin & Sue last day,with plenty of food and good music, dancing, really enjoyed it.
Make sure you keep every bit of paperwork as I have just been billed 178 euros via a solicitor for a Telefonica line I cancelled 7 years ago. I recall it was hard to cancel then but as it was all paid by DD and I heard no more I assumed that all was in order. With that in mind I thought I was safe to shred all the relevant paperwork about 2 years ago but apparently the onus is on me to keep every detail. I have consulted with a solicitor and he says it would cost a fortune to fight it/recover the money and Telefonica has an awful reputation for doing this. (I paid because I got no where complaining and was worried about being taken to court). I am still flipping mad about it.
