Brexit

So now that we are beginning to accept the reality
That the UK will be leaving the EU, where does that leave us??
Along with many ex pats living in Spain, we are feeling concerned and worried about our future living here.
Are we the only ones that are feeling a bit lost!!

La Marina

The people have voiced their opinion in the referendum. The referendum wasn't a binding referendum, it was a snap shot of the publics opinion of a moment in time to provide the government with the publics sentiment.

Next step is for the next PM to commence discussions with the EU. Upon conclusion of the discussions / negotiation the PM must then put the deal reached to parliament for the MP's to vote.

So you see it is the MP's who will have the final say on the matter, they will weight public opinion referendum results V's EU deal V's risk V's their own opinion.

Just as an interesting side note - 85% of parliamentary MP's across all parties voted to remain.

So you see there is a lot more to be played out yet, with plenty of twists & turns yet to come.

Nothing is as it first seems.

Commented Rod in La Marina 2016-07-08 22:05:13 UTC

Thanks Rod for your comments and agree with what you are saying. I think that so many people are uncertain about the future, for us ex-pats and immigrants living in the UK. Front page news in the Daily Mail the other day wrote a report suggesting that the remain campaigners will be looking to move to a EU member country if the government invokes
Article 50 ( Which i very much doubt) and number one on the list is SPAIN!
Even if they do, this is going to take years to sort out all of the legislation, so I think we should all get on with our lives and not worry about it, until it happens.

Commented Support in Alicante 2016-07-09 09:18:21 UTC

Exactly right - you see the other dynamic to the referendum,as well as the vote being marginal at 51% to 49% Is that 2 of the 4 UK countries voted to remain - which is a draw.
This comment and my previous comment means that the MP's who will have the final say have some serious considerations to contend with.

This isn't something that is going to be resolved any time soon. At least 12 months for article 50 to be invoked, if at all - they might even strike a deal without having to trigger article 50 if it suits both sides of the divided nation.

Lot more twists and turns to yet come.

Commented Rod in La Marina 2016-07-09 09:37:53 UTC

In fact they are now suggesting 2019 & a 2nd referendum based on negotiation results - which I guess will be then be further delayed until the general election in 2020.

Commented Rod in La Marina 2016-08-26 17:43:53 UTC

I agree Rod. It would be better to vote on actual facts rather than so much spin. It may even turn me into a Labour supporter if they promised to review it.

it's started early this year...

yeah, summer really has started sooner than usual, but unfortunately, it's brought out the dreaded "tourists".
They turn up at the Community Pool, fully loaded with massive inflatables, footballs and their screeching, screaming brats, but despite massive signs on the gate and near the pool, that say NO INFLATABLES and NO BALL GAMES, they still enter through the gates, which also seems to give them license to scream and shout !
Apart from not paying one cent to use OUR facilities, they abuse it by letting their kids run riot, whatever happened to "kids should be seen and not heard" ?
Call me Mr Grumpy if you like, but i'm in my garden (100 yards away) trying to relax and trying to listen to some nice music, but it's drowned out by unruly brats who's parents either don't know how to, or can't control their kids.

The joys of having bought near the community pool !! and the renters have "paid" the owners for the use of the facility's etc.Where are all the pool /noise "police" community voices and those that uphold the "rules" when you need them !!, probably having a moan /con-flab out of ear shot on how get someone else to deal with the disgusting rule breakers HOW DARE they break the rules.

PS lighten up its Easter have a good one and enjoy your swim / music if you don't get "dive bombed" by the renters !!!

I'm all for kids having fun, in fact I like kids, I used to go to school with them, but to let them run around shouting and screaming is out of order.
Ok, they're having fun, but people's idea of fun is different. My idea of "fun", does not spoil their fun, but their idea of "fun", spoils mine.

You could try a kind word with the parents and showing them the rules before it gets out of hand, I agree there is a lack of respect now days even before they (the parents included) have had a few sherbets it could be worse they could be singing, dancing and trashing the place they are renting and all the surrounding area.

Commented Vicky in La Marina 2014-04-17 21:41:38 UTC

Im pretty sure Big-ed is only trying to say why can't tourists who frequent these communal pools just simply abide by the rules that are clearly stated on the entrance? I live close to one of the communal pools on the urb and it is an absolute pain in the arse when every tom, dick and harry turn up on holiday in rented accommodation and think they can do whatever they want with little or no respect for anybody else,.....certain communities on the urb used to pay for a "pool monitor" to make sure that the rules for the area were followed but I guess that went down the pan after a short time as most community presidents are in fear of spending the money from their coffers on services the residents want and have a right to expect,....no body wants to be a kill joy,...but rules are rules! if you can't abide by them then do not come to the area,...my community has a kind of noise curfew,.....no loud noise after 12am,....I have now been wide awake since 3am due to some toss pot tourists shouting and screaming in the street obviously after too many beers,...so I got up out of bed and told them to quieten down,...they then thought it funny to come in my direction and start threatening me in some language that I didn't understand (but I got the gist of),...but believe me,.... when I pulled out the base ball bat and walked towards the 6 of them, they understood and quietly went on their merry way,...Hows that for international understanding!! No I am not some miserable old fart and kill joy!! I'm just into my 40's I enjoy having a good time, drink, laugh and a joke,.....all I expect is for tourists to respect the surroundings that they come here to use and enjoy,...but in most circumstances tend to abuse!

Some are like that without a drink.....most of the time it is the tourists but the owners whose house the are renting need to be more careful who they rent to. Companies who rent out houses need to be accountable as well...some don't explain the rules of the community at all.

Why not get all those together that abide by the rules and confront the Rule breakers, also all go round to the community Presidents house and voice your complaints as this is what you pay your fees for, and that is one of the reasons I did not buy near a pool,or bar etc as I knew what it would be like in the real world

Ive been coming to la marina for twenty odd years now as my parents have a villa. I rent a villa every year now with a communiel pool and ive noticed how many rude and arrogant residents there are so its not all down to he people who rent. I understand there are rules and we never let our kids take any inflateables or toys into the pool, but how do you expect a young child to act like when they've been looking foward to something all year. All children have a tendancy to show excitement. I have always respected any tennant that i've lived next to ie no noise etc.

Commented ianreason in La Marina 2014-04-18 13:57:05 UTC

We save up all year and bring our kids for a holiday in the sun. You have a communal pool which is like a dream come true for a kid. All they want is fun and water is the place to have fun. Then you arrive on holiday to find you can not bring a ball or inflatable to the pool. You find old codgers grunting at you asking you to be quiet. And old people don't seem to be able to address kids with a friendly tone. I have seen it. So now begins the war. When people bought houses in Spain years ago it was to be able to use as a holiday home. A place to escape to and let your hair down. Then many of you old control freaks decide to live out here and FORGET you were ever young. Go get a life. Go back to England fur a holiday during the tourist season. Join the pension club there til tourist season is over. Get a life. La marina sounds like there are a load of old moan bags. Feel sorry for you. Youth is youth.let them enjoy it.you had your turn once .We have to accept kids are not so polite as before but I have learnt if you talk to them in a nice tone you get same response back. That's how they learn too.

Commented Maggie Mahony in Playa Flamenca 2014-04-19 08:07:16 UTC

just read your comment about kids having fun around our pool, tell me why on earth did you purchase a home on an urbanisation ? i for 1 am sick of people moaning we all knew what we were buying when we decided on la marina urb,i can understand if the noise were after 8pm or so but in the daytime come on be fair we were all kids once. 2; what harm does it do to play with a ball or blow up toy in the pool area ? i think the answer is some of us bought these homes because they were cheap without thinking about the fact that some of the purchasers would be buying as a holiday home or an investment to let out to others some with kids. if people bought these homes to live in they have to accept the possibility that their neighbours may be the former, live and let live or do as you should have done in the first place sell up and purchase a home in the country and live as you wish in peace and quiet. i love la marina and believe that if san fulgencio government woke up and acted on behalf of all of their residents and not just the village we would all have a better life in spain.

Commented lyndamaysoussi in La Marina 2014-04-19 16:33:35 UTC

I must be one of the few residents who loves the busy summer holiday period. I do not live on a community, but have two community areas close by,One seems to be quiet and one not so, I am past my prime but I love hearing kids laughing ,shouting and screaming, Kids do that when they are enjoying themselves, Give them this opportunity to do so, they will have many years ahead of them, When life will not be so much fun.
But I must agree I can understand the complaints of balls and lidos etc. in public swimming pools, remembering that adults also use the pool for swimming and these people also should be able to enjoy the pool.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-19 17:25:39 UTC

I have read both comments and have some sympathy and understanding for both sides.

That said, the area relys upon the influx of holiday makers and extended families to keep the economy going. I totally agree in terms of "do unto others" in that, it is important to approach people in a calm and polite manner and even if you feel you have a valid complaint there is a wrong way and a right way to handle it. I'm sorry to say, in my experience some of the mature residents do have a less than patient approach to noise from holiday makers and while it may be annoying its not the end of the world.

Often residents are very territorial and feel they have a "god given right" to to "come first" and that's just not possible at times. More tolerance, more patience, more understanding and more respect all round. Young people learn from example and we should lead by example. Its up to pool owners etc to monitor and regulate the behaviour of their guests. Of course we all have choices and to buy a house in a holiday resort ( the clue is in the name) does kinda indicate that holiday makers will be arriving at some point kids and all !

Have a fab summer

Just one or two points, isn't a refreshing change to have a decent debate on here, instead of bars and restaurants telling us about their great "Sunday Lunches" all the time....oops..what have I said ?
Secondly, don't shoot the messenger, all i've said is that tourists turn up at the pools, with total disreguard for the rules, rules that are Spanish Law, and if they gave a bit of thought to them, there wouldn't be a problem.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2014-04-19 21:35:43 UTC

Ed it is nice to debate you're right!

Until now I've been reluctant to contribute to the platform for some time due to "bar bashing" and slanging matches.

Mind you, I could really upset the apple cart and say what really spoils it or me on Quesada, my neck of the woods (not la Marina) is barking dogs.

Now I would happily engage in a debate with irresponsible owners ( I don't blame the dogs of course) who cannot control their dogs and allow them to bark day and night. I've said it before, in the case of rescue dogs in particular, as kind and as caring as it is to rescue an animal, most of these dogs come with ready made problems due to neglect or poor care. Many (not all) are of a nervous disposition and some are aggressive due to ill treatment from previous owners ( again not all).

Owners should have proper and responsible training to care for these animals, a good heart and best intentions is just not enough in some cases and a dog that barks continually really is a recipe for trouble and distress for residents and often serves as the catalyst to set of every other dog barking in the locality.

its not normal for a dog to bark in this way regardless of how much the owner protests. In the case of an animal that is so distressed from past experiences there genuinely is no hope of training or improvement, then it really is not fair on anyone for such an animal to be homed in a residential area.

And........ don't even get me started on those disgraceful owners who allow their pets to urinate on the boundary walls of beautiful villas and ultimately peoples homes.....disgusting..... the worst example is when pet owners meet in the street and stand chatting while allowing both sets of dogs to pee simultaneously, like a contest, while they the owners just act like its not happening or worse still it simply doesn't matter to them because its not their home being urinated on ???? vile!

Kind regards have a good Easter :-)

Debra, i'm in total agreement about barking dogs, but I think you should have started a different thread.
I won't own a dog, because I couldn't give it the time it needs, ie, regular walking etc,to stop it getting bored, a major factor that makes a dog bark. The people behind me have two dogs, which they leave on the solarium all day, and of course, the poor things are bored, and to relieve that boredom, they bark at any movement, passing cars, people, planes, leaves falling off trees, I was joking about the leaves, but you get my drift.
When I was a young lad in my early teens, I had a dog, which was also my best friend, and I taught him to obey my every command, he would do anything, any trick, fantastic. So if a young lad can do this, it just amazes me, that adults, who presumably should have more sense, can't even stop a simple thing like a dog barking,.... and don't get me started about dog s**t !

Sorry but La Marina is not a holiday resort, Benidorm is a holiday resort. This is a residential area. I have no problem with most children in the pools. But the ones who kick out the water spray units, use the lights in the pool as steps so the lights get pulled off the wall etc. they do annoy me. The parents take no responsibility for these children and are abusive if approached.

Hi Ed
we seem to have so much in common lol.

For many of the same reasons I don't own a dog. My parents brought us up around dogs, they lived in a large property and the dogs had a wonderful life spending most of their time out doors weather permitting. They were as devoted to my father as he was to them but he had them trained to the letter, they new who was boss even though he didn't even raise is voice to them. Seeing how he looked after his dogs was for me, the right the way and the only way I knew.

I don't have the time or desire to give over my life in this way that's why I have never had a dog of my own. He used to say, dogs must know and understand who is master.

Mind you I have seen him have many a run in on Quesada re dogs that are left all day and even saw him go toe to toe with a Spanish gentleman for leaving his dog alone all day as security to watch his new build, the poor animal was driven mad being tied up and lonely.

We are all different Ed, our needs and priorities differ but sometimes I do wonder what on earth people are thinking of when they do such irresponsible and thoughtless things ?. Re the dog s...t not really a problem or us, we do have good picker uppers - or is that because they've already met my Dad haha

Kind regards

I just wonder if I followed some of these people home, stood outside their house all day and screamed and shouted, kicked a ball about all day and banged those "spaghetti" things on the wall, had a pee there and even had a "dump" (sorry about that) but that's been done a few times in our pool, costing me and fellow Residents, YES Residents, money to drain and refil, I don't think they'd like it and more than likely, they'd call the Police, but because all this goes on "around the pool", everything is ok.

Big Ed,
Just reading through your comments,
The Family from hell with inflatables and balls, the kids screaming and screeching around the pool which they don't pay for, oh yeah and they are Germans and as you say an arrogant race. you claim to live 100 yards away from the pool, or did you change that to next to the pool in a later comment.
Well my answer is perhaps the rules board is written in Spanish and English but not German,(perhaps they couldn't understand) and perhaps they look upon you as one of the moaning miserable Brits that have over run the area, and always want their own way.
Of course you were never a brat,(in your opinion)
Also good to see that anybody agreeing with you is as you say 'normal', funny thing is I don't agree with your idea, but I too feel as if I am normal.
Of course you had a dog in your younger years ,and of course it was perfect.
The shame of it is that could of spoken civilly to these Guests, and showed them the rules board, and you could of explained why the rules have to be obeyed (They are Spanish Laws in community and public pools).Even if you had language barriers ,if it had been handed civilly I am sure you would get a result, If no result then surely it should of been reported to the President, for him to sort it. Chances are he would of at least been Diplomatic. Of course the real answer is quite simple, go buy yourself some decent headphones and play your music in peace. But of course that would stop you ranting about holiday makers. Last point is someone does pay for holiday makers to use your pool (normally the person owning the house the Germans were renting, .the Germans in return for a pool would certainly paying a higher rental fee for the purpose of using it

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-23 09:28:03 UTC

Alan, thanks for your comments.
If you've ever been to a Community Pool, you'll see LARGE signs on the gates and similar inside the Pool area. These signs are universal, so only the dimmest of people would not be able to understand them. Example, a picture of a ball or a lilo with a line through it with the words NO BALL GAMES etc in 3 languages. What more do they need ?
Typical these days is, "that doesn't apply to me" or "it was somebody elses fault" if kids get injured, running around full pelt on slippery surfaces.
Oh by the way, "100 yds" and "next to" the pool makes no difference really, sound wise.

Let me just put this question to one and all on here, and I dare you to answer it honestly...

IF, everyday for, say, 3 summer months, between 10 and twenty kids gather outside your house and squeal, scream, shout, and kick a ball about for 8 hrs, how would you feel ?
Well, that's what I have to put up with......

and yes, i'm hoping to move as soon as possible, so if any of you lovely people out there who don't mind all the above, feel free to contact me on here.

Yes you are right about the signs ,perhaps I was a bit flippant when I suggested that perhaps the Germans didn't understand the notice boards, but the point I was making was, that by the use of the words German and arrogant in the same sentence, tended to give a feeling that perhaps your attitude towards them, when speaking to them, or of them was not of a concilliatory attitude, and they may easily of sensed your feeling towards them, and as they more than likely have thoughts of what every British speaking person is like, retaliated in a similar manner.
As of noise of any sort, I myself was one of sixteen children, noise to me was like water off a ducke back, In my twenties to forties I lived under the flight path less than a mile from Heathrow, and spent sixteen years before retirement working for TFL at an Underground Station, so not only have I been a noisy normal kid, I have lived in a noisy environment, and finally have had to calm upset angry people down, when something goes wrong. So the piddly little things that spoil your life, have hardly any effect on me what so ever.
I hope you have success in selling your property, and that you find a place to live that suits your way of life

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-23 11:43:12 UTC

Alan,
I've had lovely German friends, but I have found that when they're in a group, there could be problems, for one, they don't like to wait in line, they just push to the front, but I was just generalising I didn't approach them, so I didn't have an attitude, but i've found these days, confronting people is not the wisest thing to do. I've had words with the Committee but they're not bothered, i'll just have to sweat it out 'til i'm in the position to move.
I think this subject is now exhausted, so thanks for all the comments, I still think a little more consideration by parents would help alleviate the situation, but hey, enjoy the summer, i'll try.

Its a shame that SOME of the older generation are finding it so hard to adapt to the modern world. Thats how it is nowadays if you live surrounded by other people.

To be honest the reason I have little sympathy is it sounds like you have had a bad day and are making a mountain out of a molehill and enjoy moaning. OK You tell me what pool you live next to and when I am passing tomorrow I will stop and see if it is anything like you describe, if it is I will offer you a sincere apology. Dont forget you have stated the season has already started and for 8 hours every day you have 10 to 20 kids kicking a football.

Commented johnmckernanjnr in La Marina 2014-04-23 19:03:33 UTC

john, I don't want or need your sympathy, and usually I have great days, not bad days.
If you care to read my notes again, I said "3 SUMMER" months, (meaning June, July and Aug), between 10 and 20 kids, running about screaming etc etc.and I did say, "would you like it outside your house" ? At the moment, I don't think it's the kids holiday time, so there's just the odd family about, and it's been ok this week.
I'm not one for moaning, I just stated my case (which i'm allowed to do) then after that, I was only answering comments.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2014-04-24 07:33:30 UTC

Commented johnmckernanjnr in La Marina 2014-04-24 08:27:04 UTC

If it's as bad as you say, I'm not sure that publicizing the fact will do much for the marketing of your property or will you feel that it's not really that bad when a potential buyer asks you what the area is like.

Commented David in La Marina 2014-04-24 08:43:00 UTC

David, I shouldn't have much trouble selling my property, There seems to be loads of people about, that love the sound of kids screaming....going by this thread !

Typical comment from one who does not live here. We have to abide by the rules yet these people decide which rules they will obey and sod the rest of you. That's why the UK is in such a crap state and why we decided to leave. Pity we could not turn the lights out when we left.

Peter,
Which is 'the typical comment, by someone who doesn't live here.'

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-25 11:21:58 UTC

This is the one I refer to:-

""We save up all year and bring our kids for a holiday in the sun. That's how they learn too.""

Peter,
Thanks for replying to my request. I am I suppose a bit of an old codger, but I agree with you, respect is a two way street, give respect to someone and you have a chance of getting it returned to you,.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-28 07:14:32 UTC

Alan what is your definition of 'an old codger'?
I have been a pensioner for over 2 years now but do not regard myself as one of the above.
I totally agree with 'Big Ed' though with the seemingly total disrespect shown by the middle and younger generations to their 'elders' and the rules to which we abide and yes I do live on a community and have been here for 12 years.

'Immigration is the movement of people into another country or region to which they are not native in order to settle there. Especially, permanently Immigration is a result of a number of factors, including economic and/or political reasons, family re-unification, natural disasters or the wish to change one's surroundings voluntarily.'

We may be 'immigrants' but at least we pay our way.
I do not agree with you though because this trouble is caused by tourists not 'immigrants'.

Commented Peter Horsfield in La Marina 2014-04-28 09:21:10 UTC

Peter,
I have a couple years on you, I am nearly 70, At this moment, I don't really mind what people call me (as long as it isn't late for dinner) I retired 12 yeqrs ago, after many years in stressful jobs, I learnt in those jobs, that regardless of age, if you can talk to a person young or old and dont talk down to them, you have a chance of getting through to them, you don't always succeed, but it feels good when you do, when you don't think you can get them to understand what you mean, or indeed, you don't understand them surely the best thing is to walk away and hand over the banner to someone with authority and let them try. Age gives you a bit of knowledge but doesn't give you the right to get your own way.

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-04-28 10:59:37 UTC

well said r morten, they need to put someome on to supervise round the pool, also women topless bathing round the pool, when i have 2 small sons, it not very nice either.

Commented clydelauder in La Marina 2014-04-28 16:28:32 UTC

Reindeer.- When did I say I was not an immigrant? I prefer to think of myself as one who is entitled to live in another country from the one in which I was born but we make no demands on that country.

Not like in Britain where most of the immigrants are on benefit of one kind or another and who also send those benefits back to their home country to support their families. If you do not agree with this - then tough Sh-one-t!

I have no choice to agree that I am but at least I am one who aides by the rules we have to live by.

End of story.

Commented Peter Horsfield in La Marina 2014-04-28 16:39:26 UTC

I live near a pool and i have to agree with you to a certain extent. The problems we had were people scaling over our wall to get balls, being woken in the middle of the night from drunks in the pool thats when no child has pooped in it, thats on top of the constant noise from 9am until 11pm it effected my health so much so that we have just brought a static caravan in the uk so i can leave for three months But why should i have too ?. I have grandchildren i know that get excited but it is down to lack of consideration for other people. The last time i looked my address had residencial in it, la marina is not a holiday camp. When we brought near the pool we expected some noise its just the blatant disregard for the rules that causes us the problems. At last though after 8 years of us all complaining we are getting a monitor in july and august, shame i wont be here to see what happens.

For gods sake back off, the urb and the businesses here need children and people on holiday and I hope they have a great time here in la marina. they have saved hard to give their family a few weeks away. I read the things on here and it full of people with pensions creating crap for families just enjoying life THE SPANISH LOVE FAMILIES. get a grip for gods sake or kill the urb.

I understand you are pissed off with the police at the moment and a few people who are trying to wreck the Urb, but do me A favour,I am a pensioner and living in Spain, but could you sort of label the spoilers as a few pensioners most of us love a bit of fun and enjoyment, and enjoy people having a laugh when they come over here for a week or two in the summer

Commented Alan in La Marina 2014-06-04 08:08:23 UTC

Just a thought ...those pensioners may just be the ones that keep the bars etc going all year, spending a bit of there money in the winter months and the pools that are on private communities are paid and owned by them and so are entitled to there rules being adhered to for the benefit of all the owners.

Commented 2nd Casa in La Marina 2014-06-04 11:04:00 UTC

If you live in a community and you have problems how do you think spouting off on here is going to sort it. We all get problems from time to time. This has been talked about on the forum for several months now - its beginning to get boring.

This is an attitude that some have that is not true. You can not blame being grumpy on the fact you are old or the kids can blame the fact they are unruly on them being young.
Lets work together and make La Marina a nice place for everyone.

Urgent- recommended registered electrician needed for house re-wire

Hi, a neighbour who uses their house just for holidays, is over
at the moment until Monday, and urgently needs a registered electrical company
to give a quote for a whole house re-wire. Does anyone know
a Spanish registered company they can use, that you recommend please.
Preferably in this area, La Marina, or nearby like Guardamar, Quesada.
Thank you

La Marina

I can recommend a Spanish electrician by the name of Herman. There are a few "electricians" around the Urb La Marina who are essentially Handy Men and do not really understand Spanish wiring installations. Herman is excellent and reasonably priced. His number is 609617268

Hi. There is a guy named Graham who is very reasonable and reliable, but we cannot find his number. We will keep looking, but someone else may know him and send you his number.

Commented Support in Alicante 2016-08-21 16:41:40 UTC

There is no direct bus from the urbanization as far as I am aware.
However, you can catch a bus from La Marina village or next to Lidl which will take you to Torrevieja. From La Marina village they are usually 25 minutes to the hour and run hourly.

A little light relief

Don’t you just hate Doctor’s receptionists when they think they know it all - read on............

A 76 year old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk.
The Receptionist said, "Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?"
"There's something wrong with my dick", he replied.
The Receptionist became irritated and said, "You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that."
"Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you," he said.
The Receptionist replied; "Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room
full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear
or something then discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private."
The man replied, "You shouldn't ask people questions in a room full of
strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.
The man walked out, waited several minutes and then re-entered.
The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, "Yes?"
"There's something wrong with my ear", he stated.
The receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her
advice. "And what is wrong with your ear, Sir?"
"I can't piss out of it!" he replied. The waiting room erupted in laughter!:)
