La Marina is possibly 1.45 mins - 2 hours from Benitachell. It is about 20 - 25 mins from Alicante traveling South on the N332.

Hi can you send details of how we can get to your Christian fellowship. We looked last year and could not find it. If you can a sat navtcode, that would be helpful

Hi, the church is situated in Urb La Marina, right opposite the market square. If you are coming from Guardamar, get onto the N332 towards Alicante, and when you get to the roundabout where the big Merca China is, take the last exit (left). You will see a roundabout ahead of you with a Lidl on the corner....go straight on and you pass Iceland. Keep going...it's a long road. You will come to some large speed bumps. Immediately after the 3rd, turn right and keep going...another long road. You will pass some bars on the right and eventually you will pass the large Catholic Church (big grey block building), go past that and you will come to the market square on the left....look to your right and you will see a 3 story building, middle storey is all windows, that is the church. If you look in the 'services' section of this site, you will find a photo of the building and contact details. Please feel free to phone if needed. Hope to see you there.

Where in Spain to live?

Hiya. Been looking around to buy a place in Spain. Someone told me Le Marina was nice. Yeah right, I left my kiss me quick hat back in
Benidorm! Any suggestions where to look?
Cheers Jonny.

La Marina

We assume you mean La Marina, Spain!
Not sure what you mean by being 'kiss me quick'
Do you mean that La Marina has a very friendly atmosphere and that the residents are very welcoming? Then you are right, but we would suggest you look in another Country!!!

I know of a friend that bought a very reasonable priced property in La Marina recently. the only thing I know is that he bought it through an agency in La Marina called Target Spanish Properties that he said were helpful and stress free. Good luck.

Commented flagkilo in La Marina 2016-06-24 15:14:51 UTC

Eastendboy666 ....if you are inferring that Le Marina, well it's actually La Marina, is anything like Benidorm you need to go to Specsavers!

Taxi transfers

My brother is visiting my villa with his wife and 2 year old son in August. I usually rent a car and drive when over or my friend Ron will do my airport transfers. He is unavailable this summer and my brother and his wife don't drive. Does anyone know any reasonable, reliable taxis and prices for an Alicante airport to la marina Urb return please? Thanks in advance.

Garden Waste.

I understand the local council have now imposed a fine of €1000 on people who leave garden waste out by the bins.If this is correct, good on em.For all people without transport to get it to the tip, there are several people on the URB. who will shift it for a few Euros. The Borrowers /Bin Burglars will take most things but not garden waste.

Just a little add on to the above, I have no idea what the penalty is but according to MUNA, People who have garden waste or white goods or furniture that they need to get rid of, but do not have transport to get it to the proper site on the Urb (and I gather the appropriate paperwork) should pop in to the Council Offices next to the satellight Town Hall on the Urb and speak to the Councillor Paulino

Commented Alan in La Marina 2016-05-15 15:00:21 UTC

Didn't know that Alan,Thanks.

Commented blarter222 in La Marina 2016-05-15 15:46:35 UTC

You can also phone Paulino on 966794201or on his mobile 676526188. He will only move large furniture items that you cannot take to the tip yourself or both if you are without transport. Leaving them by the bins do incur a fine if the Police catch you. A couple I know have been fined, they had not long bought their home.

It is time for the Ayuntamiento to once again inform about this illegal garbage handling.
There are always people who doesn't know or haven´t heard about this.

I chucked the missus out last night? Hope I don't get fined....

Commented 2Cute4U in La Marina 2016-06-13 18:10:36 UTC

Only if you left her by the bins. She's probably enjoying her freedom anyway.

Commented blarter222 in La Marina 2016-06-14 06:13:03 UTC

She was probably picked up immediately by one of the treasure hunters.

Commented reindeer keeper in La Marina 2016-06-15 13:03:30 UTC

If you think your area is bad, take a look down a road called Cebadas in Dolores. Every bin area is a health hazard due to the amount of rubbish that has been illegally dumped, it's a disgrace. Shame on you and Dolores council for not doing anything about it!

Electrician needed

I need an Electrician to put in MCB
to stop overloading the electrics.
Is there anyone you can recommend

La Marina

Electricity keeps tripping !

Help !. Does anybody know an electrician who can upgrade our electricity please ? when we bought, 6 months ago, the previous owner arranged to have the electricity 'downgraded' to the basic 3.5. apparently, for a Julia, 3 bedrooms, it needs to be 5 +.
If we have 2/3 high powered electrical items on, it trips . Also, is it a big job ? does it have to be approved by the Town Hall lot ? thanks for any info. Previous owner said someone would do it for a bottle of wine !

Upgrading from 3.3 kw to 5.75 kw (which is what you need to do) could be quite expensive. Before Iberdrola will allow an upgrade, you will need to be in possession of a 'boletin'. This is a certificate issued by a person qualified to do so, and it basically certifies that the installation complies with the latest Spanish regulations. It is often necessary to have to do quite a lot of extra wiring and fit extra trips and new sockets etc, before the boletin can be issued. If you want, I can give you the number of an electrician who can give you a quote for everything you need, including registering the boletin with Iberdrola.

Commented Geoff in La Marina 2016-06-07 16:24:41 UTC

P.s. Yes! I am sure you could get an illegal upgrade (to 5.75) done for a bottle of wine (plus the cost of a bigger trip). This would probably be ok until Iberdrola come along and fit a new smart meter, because once this is in place, it will only allow 3.3 kw into the house, regardless of what size trip you have in your consumer unit.

Commented Geoff in La Marina 2016-06-07 16:39:14 UTC

Hi Geoff,
thanks v much for your info - much appreciated. Yes, please, can you let us have the name and details of an electrician. We live in England, but , every so often we fly over and stay in the villa, so the job isn't urgent at the mo,
Thanks Sue

Commented suehughes11 in La Marina 2016-06-09 16:39:19 UTC

There are others who will offer to do it cheaper, but you can trust Tony, and he is reliable.

La Marina fiesta 2016

Does anyone know where the fiesta is being held this year, what are the dates?

Sorry Yorkshire lass, you may find that the Fiesta this year is on Avenida Londres,
Plaza 39 have been selling tickets for seats near the stage.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2016-05-26 08:59:11 UTC

Sorry ... Has it changed again???? I was told that it is outside Supavalue where the Police Station and Tourist Info place is situated. Though why I can't understand as the viewing and access to bars etc would be poor - although not as bad as last year on the top end of The Strip. I still say that the best place for the Fiesta is the Consumer Square having access to food and drink with excellent viewing of the stage etc. Surely common sense will prevail or do we not have a say in all of this in view of us paying for it indirectly with taxes etc paid to the Council.

Commented Yorkshireman in La Marina 2016-05-27 23:07:58 UTC

Hi, im interested in the fiesta in la marina , could anyone tell me where consum square is please?

Commented kareng227 in La Marina 2016-05-28 20:40:10 UTC

If you go to consum square this August for the Fiesta, you'll be on your own, see above.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2016-05-29 05:16:37 UTC

Ok. Could you please let me know where to go when it is sorted. Thanks

Commented kareng227 in La Marina 2016-05-29 07:59:45 UTC

It's on the main strip where all the bars and supermarket (Dialprix) are.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2016-05-29 09:23:08 UTC

Why have they not learnt from the failure and fiasco that we had last year!!!! It was not wide enough to cope with the numbers of people that wanted to attend and you couldn't get a table or even a seat to see the stage. Why is it there again after last year???? At least I thought they wanted to share the business around the Urb?

Commented Yorkshireman in La Marina 2016-05-29 15:04:05 UTC

Dose anyone know what acts are on this year?

Commented juliemellor in La Marina 2016-05-29 17:02:35 UTC

The best place for the Fiesta is Consum Square, but it's moved around every year to give other bars a chance to make some money, only fair 'spose.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2016-05-29 20:26:16 UTC

Hi Al Marina,

I'm not sure where this information came from, but I can confirm that Plaza 39 are not selling any tickets for this or any other events.

The fiesta this year is definitely being held at the bottom end of the urbanisation, by BankInter, police station etc. I think it is the first full weekend of August, but I'm not 100% sure.

Commented Peter in La Marina 2016-06-04 15:57:27 UTC

Sorry Peter, i'm positive I read it somewhere, I must take more water with my beer.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2016-06-04 19:56:37 UTC

Thank you Peter for confirming my original post that the Fiesta is outside the Police Station / Supavalue / Bankinter on the weekend of August 5th, 6th and 7th. No news on who the acts are this year but if anybody knows please post on here.

Commented Yorkshireman in La Marina 2016-06-05 00:08:11 UTC

Hi Al,

No worries. And no matter how bad things get, there's never any reason to dilute your beer!!

Commented Peter in La Marina 2016-06-05 05:55:28 UTC

Great Stuff I will be over then, always had a great time at the fiesta wherever they have been in the past!

Commented juliemellor in La Marina 2016-06-05 08:53:09 UTC

The verano fiesta is on 5-6 & 7 August outside Supervalu / medical centre area. Although this had tried to be changed to Consumne square by the residents association on saftey grounds without success. Paulino is in charge of the urbanizacion's fiestas & is giving the businesses in this area including estate agents a "fair" crack of the whip & will not budge. They also have a three day fiesta in this area as of tomorrow, 10th june so will be interesting.

Commented Geo in La Marina 2016-06-09 08:27:15 UTC

Hi. As I am coming out tomorrow what is the 3 day Fiesta at the Supavalu end about. Any info please?
