La Marina Sports Complex (Satellite)

Dave Morgan was a guitarist for ELO between 1981-1986
He became a born again Christian in 1988,he married Mandy Scott in 1997 and changed his name to David Scott-Morgan.
From 1999 until 2009 they ran a smal church in Birmingham.
Soon after this they played gigs in england,mainly Gospel type music with the occasional ELO song in between.
At a rough personal guess i think the Supporting Artist may be his Wife,but that is purely a guess.
This show may be good
,I can remember Elvis doing a Gospel LP called How Great Thou Art,which to me was one of the best discs he ever recorded
If David could be half as good he would be worth watching

I would think that this will be a most interesting evening. Worth a visit to see what they have to offer.

Went to the Sports Complex tonight to see these people, to be perfectly honest it was a load of c..p. Pardon my French. These people are trying to get people down to Torreveija to see them in concert. i would not waste my time. I must say the keyboard player was not too bad at all but, I don't know who told the man & woman that they could sing. I have seen a lot of Artists in my time having lived and been in business in Blackpool and they would not have lasted 10 minutes in any of the clubs there. No Alan he was nothing like Elvis. I have heard better Kareoke singers.

Hi Eve,Got to say I am glad I didnt go to see them,Instead i went to Cagneys to see Claire Daniels,Obviously I made a good choice,three hours of enjoyable music from Claire, good pub grub and plenty of booze and for three of us less than 50euros,you will be pleased to know tables and chairs for drinkers as well,also for Carol,the entertainment and eating was in the partly enclosed terrace,and it seemed the unwritten rule was for smokers to walk outside to have their fix.
The most enjoyable night I have had for several months,so thank you Claire I have no doubt i will be seeing you more often,you put on a really good performance and such a strong voice,and good inter acting with your audienceThanks to all the staff at cagneys,

At least somebody had a good evening (Alan). We most definitely should have come along with you. We did have a lovely 3 course carvery meal & bottle of wine for 10 euros which was very nice. The best part of ex-ELO guitarist /Electric Light Orchestra was the keyboard player when he was warming up at the beginning - sounded very good. BUT, as Eve has said the singer and his wife - well they could not sing - very amateurish. We were looking forward to some solo guitar playing, but that did not happen. They had more breaks than they played - in total I suppose they played about an hour and finished at just after 10.30 to have a meal. Most certainly will not be going to see them again. They are advertising their Group for Friday 14th Oct at Teatro Auditorio Municipal, Torrevieja. If you are thinking of going my advice would be stay at home or go somewhere else.

Oh lucky escape. The lovely Mr Smith and his lady wife nearly went but as we were out all afternoon the old girl was knackered so we stayed in. Eve thanks for the offer of your pal's house but I think my daughter will want to chill a bit at night with TV and a bottle of wine. They have a very busy life at home, both work full time and have kids at uni, so this is just a break for them. Are you the heart of La Marina?, you seem to cover a lot of territory. xx

Having now found there web page it seems that they are a religious cult and that they have taken over a church in Hondon. Has anyone in Hondon any knowledge of this? The site is at http://www.icatorrevieja.org/index.htm
