I always think it is a shame that new ideas are used to liven La Marina up,but the publicity for them is normally non existant.
cannot see why these things are not well publicized well in advance. Seems like they are almost always doomed to fail

I love La Marina but I can not get my head around the reason why information is so so hard to come by. So often it is made public the day after the event. Very annoying. Take last night how many people were aware that there was a fiesta on the strip, I found out because of the police road block. Why is it that the council does not post info up here for us all to see, it's like they try to act inside a secret society,for them to know and us to wonder. Lots goes on up here on the urb but we the public are not made aware of it. I think I am correct that over 1,000 people a day come onto this site and if lucky a few events are listed from Hogs Head,Sports Center, and Hillside, what about the rest PLEASE we would like to be kept up to date. Yes even the Gods on the Council could take part regally. Or am I the only one who is interested???????????????????????????

It would appear that the new night market is back on tonight could it be every Friday, Saturday & maybe Sunday we will have to wait & see ??

I came up with the idea of a night market last year after my first evening
visit to the Guardamar night market.
But to put it mid way on the strip near where the Kitchen shop and French restaurant is.
Nice one will visit that next week !

Regarding the council not posting anything.

I think you will all find, Carol and Ian were posting all the events and what was going on on the urb on here.
Then people started having a go at carol for posting them and telling her it weren't her job to do that.
Well she was posting the to let everyone know so we can't now moan that no posts were being posted as she was doing it as people were having a go at her for that.

It appears that quite a few things are happening on La Marina Urb.most of which would need Council approval.The things that are allowed would be for the betterment of the area and its people .Surely the people who know what is going to happen,would be people in the Council.I gather the Council has a press Officer whose job it would be to promote the area.We have free newspapers everyday in this area why don't we get a mention,if done correctly it would cost a small if any money,Poster boards outside main offices and shops,If the council cant arrange it give me the info.in advance and pay to put a few board sites up I will give it a go myself,it cant turn out any worse than having no publicity.We have our Fiesta in less than 4 weeks,and as yet we have no times no acts no sideshows,if you want to attract people and get them to spend money. the more cheap or free advertising is surely the way forward

Sorry Alan you cant be correct about them having a press officer, as there is to my mind never ever any publicity put out. They seem to doing quite well on other fronts but publicly is a word they do not have any idea at all about. Such a shame we deserve better.

Yes ,Spanish Connections,you are probably correct, I doubt if they do have a Press Officer,My Comment was a bit tongue in cheek,because if they have,He or She aint doing the job they are paid for,and if they havnt got one,then we are being ruled by a Council,who havnt got anough brains between them to realize no publicity,is not the way to go,,Where as free publicity would benefit the Council and the Area,plus the people living and working in that area.So even on those things you need to pay for,it must work out cost effective,UNLESS of course you want these things to fail

Before we are told we just missed it is the Medieval market on shortly?

Yes Alan perhaps that could get the Urbanisation a little publicity. But not all of us tune in plus it would not help would be holiday makers learning about whats on. This site has a FREE Events section, which I note that up to now the Council have ignored. I possible can understand them not wanting to post on the wall section, but the Events section is anonymous, so can not start to understand the logic behind them not keeping us all informed. One passing comment (sorry cant resist this one) Advertising is not meant to be found three quarters of the way up a lamp post, where you have to strain to read what it says, that is if you were lucky enough to of found it in the first place. Come on Jeff and crew this is an easy one to get correct, Think of all the Browne Points you could earn?

yes Ian of course this Forum plus other Local Forums,also the Town Hall website,plus the Council facebook page,all means of free advertising, I had mentioned previously the Local newspapers(and we have plenty of them,plus proper boards placed outside local council offices and also around main shops (this will cost ,but surely worth it)Their are countless ways all the shows and fiestas etc. could be advertised wellin advance, for peanuts and a bit of graft,I just wonder surely someone on the Council must of thought of these things,it is not rocket science,I just think that perhaps they are not interested in making a success of this area

I agree Alan. But I believe that in their heart of hearts they think they are informing people. Because they have seen the information and assume that we must all be aware of whats what. But the Truth is Information is not being released on a regular basis in any direction at all, whether for Free or otherwise. My question is this they have a full time guy down there who deals with their web site, why cant he be trained to put information onto places were it would be seen.

You are correct Carol in particular did keep us informed on local events, however, I cannot believe anything other than Carol was getting her information from PIPN headquarters?
Why cannot Jeff instruct one of his helpers to keep us informed if he does not have time to do so himself?

I have arranged to Speak to Sam in Jeffs office tomorrow morning and will update here.

Sorry the only event the council have advised me about is the Fitness training for teenagers which was mentioned on here this morning. The only thing I can suggest is that anybody wants info on planned events they check out the councils Fcebook page or pop into the town hall. Remembering of course that the council will only have info on council arranged events.
