The Needy of San Fulgencio and La Marina

I really would like to get my head around this fund raising thing for the charity:  The Needy Of San Fulgencio and La Marina. 
If the food you are buying with the funds you have raised is going to the Town Hall then is it to be given to the Caritas official charity for local people in need. Or, does the The Needy Of San Fulgencio and La Marina charity that you refer to have nothing to do with Caritas?

I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank you both,for the hard work you both do in helping to collect funds for the Help the Needy.I am sure every person who gets food for themselves and their Families are grateful for what you do.I just hope you carry on doing the good work,as this is one of the 'Charities' close to my heart.Once again thank you Both

Hi Sandra, as I am aware the money that we raise is nothing to do with Caritas, I think this charity is run by the church, The town hall are given a list of families including children that are no longer entitled to get social security, we then raise money to buy food to help these families. As I said before, in this day and age, no one should go without food. I hope this clarifies the situation We have about 40 children and their families to help.

Thank you Alan for your support it is much appreciated. and both Pete and I will continue to raise funds. Why not come along to our next fund raiser at the Hogs Head, it will be nice to meet you.

Evidently, it makes no difference if a charity is registered or not, YOU ONLY HAVE TO HAVE THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS in order to get approval for a fund raising event! 
I am referring here to a previous post pointing out that you were invited to raise funds for a new non-registered charity approved by councillor Wiszniewski, but volunteers working for three other well known and respected local charities, also in desperate need of funds, were denied this opportunity!

Sandra. I can see where you are coming from,cant see where you are going to.
The main point is people are giving to causes they they believe in,they are not being threatened to give to causes they dont believe in.
Perhaps if you named the three charities who were denied the oppurtunity to attend the Fiesta then if any of them are on my list of charities i support,I will go to them and make a donation.
What i dont like is people having a go at any charity.For the main part they are run and helped by well meaning people,who give up time and energy to help those,(be it animal or human,)who one way and another are suffering.
Please support the three charities who did not get the oppurtunity to collect at the Fiesta,but dont do it in a way the denigrates,other well intentioned people who were successful in getting a pitch at the fiesta.

Wasn´t this addressed in an earlier post by you on a similar subject Sandra to which Jeff W replied
"The food for the needy come under the auspices of the Social Services. Therefore they are operating this stall with the authority of the Town Hall and it,s Social Services" It seems to me that if you have a problem with the policy you should be addressing it to the Town Hall and not the people who are willing to work hard for something they believe in, whether you do or not.

You are right James,the question was asked and answered a couple of weeks back.
Unfortunately Sandra does seem to like to show her dislike for the current Council.
So I gather if she cant find anything new to debate,and show her dislike for the Council,she will repeat old questions to ask again.
Personally i can cope with that,what i dont like is using charities (registered or not)to get her point across.

 Alan, to answer your question,the three local volunteer groups that were not invited to have a fund raising stall at the La Marina fiesta are; PAWS, PETS IN SPAIN AND FINCA LUCENDUM. 
I am not politically motivated. I am however concerned when a person in authority uses his position to undermine and deny hard working volunteers an equal opportunity. Unlike most posters on this forum I will stick out my neck and get involved in a debate when I feel strongly about something, as I have seen you do. 
Pauline, seems you do not like anyone to have a different point of view to yours. In previous posts you state:  "Why are you getting involved in this" and "Why do you have to stir up trouble all the time"! Sorry to disappoint you Pauline but freedom of speech and having a different opinion is allowed these days. Don't take it so personal, we all learn from each other!

Sandra out of the 3 charities you named 2 are animal charities i own 2 dogs a relation of mine owns a kennals in the area & aids an animal charitie you can say we are animal lovers ,well done to all people who give time and effort in to the organisations but in my book people come first , when ever charities are mentioned on here its nearly alway's animals i was begining to wonder if other charities existed in this area if you have a problem about who got invited to have a stall take it up with the people who gave out the invites not the people that got an invite, i can see a time when the powers that be will say its more problem than its worth no more charities ,then people will be happy you say dont take it personall how else are people to take it some people use the freedom of speech argument to have a go at others ,its a wonder we have not had cotravenses my human rights still theres always time.

I have nothing against the question being asked,it is just that surely you asked it to the wrong person.
Surely it is nothing to do with Pauline who gets an invite to the Fiesta and who doesnt,It is up to the Council, so that is whom you should ask the question to.
My reason for my comments on this matter is that i will defend any person who is putting in time and energy to help people or animals, who are in need of help.Without them La Marina would be a poorer place
