Please add any tips you think might benefit others who read this forum.

I was tellinga friend that a kettle I only purchased 4 months ago was already full of limescale and she gave me a brilliant tip.

LEMONS - chop them up put them in the kettle and add water and boil it, let it cool and boil it again then leave if for the day - rinse the kettle out and boil again with just water - what a fantastic job it did and I have a kettle that looks like new.

A small amount of vinegar does the same, put minimum amount of water in your kettle with tablespoon of vinegar bring to the boil leave for a few minutes then rinse well, depending how scaled up it is repeat if needed.

I used to do it with a lemon....my kettle that is !...But I got a friend in UK to send me a little silver thing like a brillo pad...purchased from Betterware for about 1£..its been in my kettle for the last 18months....no limescale to be seen at all.. wonderful!

Another tip with lemons is to chop them up , put them in a bag in the freezer, then add them to drinks instead of ice.
