Bars/houses

I have the original Massa plans, no mention of any bars where the Consum 2 bars is now located. The original Villa's in that area date back 23 years..

True, but the area consum 2 still must have had plans etc as this was orange and lemon groves so people would have seen what was going on, I think it took over 4 years to develop this area after all la marina was scrub land for goats etc at 1st, as they say in Spain no one buys a view, and I preferred the orange and lemon groves to all the villas etc but that's money /progress after all the commercial centres houses etc have to go somewhere not in our back yard ?
ps what about the grey/ international /top of the strip areas and the smaller shops etc

No plans for the Consum 2 area when I purchased my Villa. Why they let them open up next door to residencial property beats me. Best place for them would be down by Lidl as they would not upset anyone.
I good news may be in the pipe line, Jeff is Ex Police, so I doubt he will want to support illegal bars that do not have the correct licence & soundproofing etc.
Lets just hope that the Councill do not permit an extra hour opening again this summer.

We bought our property where we did as we were told we were going to have local shops, bars and restuarants, which we use.

I cannot understand why people are making so much fuss, as I am sure if they lived in a town in the UK, they would of had local ammenities.

A lot of people without transport rely and local businesses and the businesses reply on their customers.

If people wanted complete peace and quiet they should of bought up in the mountains.

Golfer,I gather you have lived around the consume area for many years,before the consume area was an apple in somebodies eye,Why wait all these years before complaining about bar noise.I gather that the area has been noisy for years,but all of a sudden you want bars closed down because they may be breaking the law.
But you suggest that they move to the edge of town,that way they wont affect you,I noticed you dont mention that for most people in La Marina,it will be a long walk for a pint,because as a law abider you wouldnt want them to drive would you,and after a pint or two these same drinkers will have to walk home,But as long as they do it quietly or dont go near your house,everything will be O.K.Well it is time to open your eyes,you look to be in an extreme minority,because most people realise you need bars,restaurants shops etc.near where you live,if only for comfort and ease.If you really want the bars closed down then why not try the official channels which you can go through.if not why not enjoy what you have and that is a life, Enjoy it you only get one chance at it,no replays are allowed,why make yourself miserable,by trying to make other peoples life worse.
I personally love my life,yes i may complain but once said i try to forget what I am complaining about and all is right with the world.try it may work for you as well,if not at least you can say you tried.

We all came to Spain for a better and differnt way of life....didnt we. o why are some people trying to change this and enforce English ways and ideas?
I am curious about why Golfer doesnt use his real name and photo, is they because he actually uses some of the local bars. Maybe he actually secretly enjoys a song on the karaoke or a meal out whilst listening to a singer??
With regard to the extra hour in the summer, we have had it for the last 4 years and as far as im aware its not just a La Marina thing ( but i could be wrong about that ) It doesnt bother us as we dont stay open any later in the summer anyway, but im sure lots of bars do make use of the extra time.

I would have thought the time to voice your discomfort about bars commercial centres etc would have been at the 1st stages even you could not have mistaken the construction plant in the area many many years ago. I take it that you do not and never had used any of the facilities on the urb at all maybe you thought they were just landscaping the orange and lemon groves. I bet the goats and goat herders would still have liked to be able to roam free on the scrub land of la marina not sharing it with a few hundred houses/thousand people with cars /vans etc or would the golf course that maybe was planned for the quarry area suited you? there again only if the entrance /car park /club house was not near you, oh and they hit there balls ever so quietly with no shouts of fore /good shot old bean .As to the bars etc being down by lidlals etc some of us dont want to drink and drive, and some cant walk very far, yes the orange/lemon groves were a better outlook but then again some of the bars etc have great views ! try them you may like it !, sorry I forgot you dont/want /ever to use the urbs facilities hope you have a nice time shopping/socialising etc off the urb you never know you may need them one day !!
