Looking for cheaper Car Insurance I rang The leader for a Quotation. When they rang back, they spoke to my husband and the young lady told him he was too old to insure and even if I insured the car in my name he would not be allowed to drive. My husband drove armoured tanks in the army, had a HGV licence in England and apart from that can reverse better than me and his eyesight is better than mine. This is AGE DISCRIMINATION. Surely if my husband can pass the medical in Spain he is allowed to drive. This is not Spanish bureaucracy its the English. Thank god for Linea Directa, we shall be sticking with them.

Sorry Eve, but I have to disagree with you to a certain extent with our experience of them. Linea Directa are a rip off in our opinion. We had our car insured with them for several years and after chatting with different people about how much they were charging us, we decided to get another quote. We now insure our car through Zig Zag, and have been for several years now - it is a third of the price that Linea Directa were charging us. Zig Zag do a thorough check round all the different companies and get you the cheapest quote possible for your car and circumstances. So make sure that you do shop around and do not go with Linea Directa just because they are well known !!

We have tried to get cheaper than Linea Directa and we can't. Also when I broke down in Torreveija hospital car park late one afternoon they got a break down truck to me in 15 mins, but, It is down to individual experience.

Try Linda Rowland, she's based in Santa Pola (just near the Saturday market) We have our house insurance and used to have our car insured with them, we considered them very cheap and are very customer friendly, no matter what age!! You may find their number in jungle drums or any free paper, give them a ring, they do speak English as well.

We have been with Linea Direct forabout 15 years, they have always been very helpful, if you don't like their quotes it is possible to get a lower one if you are firm & polite, I have done this many times.Also whenever i've had need of breakdown service/ 20mins is the longest I have had to wait.Also while you wait they send text updates to reassure you.Linea Direct every time.Chris

I would recommend Saltsbay Insurance in La Marina Village ( next to pet shop Patricia) Call in and see Peter there. He is very very helpful ( fluent spanish and has lived here for many years) he will search for the cheapest deals for you and advise you on the best kind of insurance for your needs. Saltsbay cover all insurance needs, car, bike,caravan,house and contents even travel insurance.

I rang quite a few numbers this year when our insurance is due for renewal and we foun d Linea Directa the best for us, but I will definately shop around again when it is due next year.
