Got the poster,with the council symbol.Which does insinuate the council had something to do with the Dos Mas concert.I had already written a piece on the forum about the council office being one year old,but i was told on here that the council had nothing to do with the concert outside Dos Mas,

I remember that Jeff Wiszniewski was elected on the premise of Honesty, Openness and Transparency. After one year as a councillor it is all too apparent that he has no intention of changing anything in this regard, instead of telling people the truth he always passes the buck and tries to blame everything on the previous administration. Also, with his FIVE personal assistants, is it too much to ask that one of them is assigned to update us on this forum. What exactly are they doing anyway?

As for Jeff,I have supported him many times in the past,But I am getting 'peeved with his attitude,of blaming everybody else.I still believe that after the Council have blamed everybody for everything that goes wrong,(if what Andi said earlier regarding bar requests having to go to Valencia for approval)they have reached the pinnacle of stupidity,as people realise that the Council is to blame,and not every other tom,dick or harry,I predict that when this happens jeff will be the fall guy ,for the Council
and all the blame will be put on his shoulders.
I have no leanings to any political party,I only worry about La Marina and the people living and trying to earn a living here.
But i say to Jeff,you have more power on the Council than you are using,you are the one holding the vote together,you can get rid of this council before it gets rid of you,DONT FORGET you have the casting vote ,dont let the other eight members walk over you ,it is your turn to fight,stop repeating to us,the crap they feed to you,and demand the truth from them

Budgets
Please let me try to explain how I understand this works.
Like any Council or Government, we have to supply certain services to the population. We have to pay for these services, however certain things have to be capped because of the austerity measures.
Services such as Water, Sewerage, Lighting, Education, Sports, Social Services, Police and Emergency services, Rubbish Collection, Healthy Services,Transport, Youth, Tourism, Fiesta, employment, Council wages and more.
There are two side to the Balance Sheet: Money coming in from Taxes, Suma, works licences etc. and the outgoings are for such as the services listed above.
The Money that comes into the coffers is about half of that which is required, therefore the Grants and other payments come from Alicante, Valencia and Central Government to make up the shortfall.
If the individual budgets are not used by these departments, then when it comes to the next budget, we either get a reduced amount or it is cut completely, resulting in cuts in that particular service. How that budget is used, is dependent on the Councillor for that department.
What I dont understand is that when we have a Plenary meeting, there is always time set aside for questions. If the question of the cost of Rock Arena was so important, this was the time to put the question to the Councillor for Youth and Tourism. As no questions were asked by any of the Councillors, we have to assume they had no problems with the proposal for the Rock Arena Concert.

I would like to say how unfair I think a lot of people who use this site are to Jeff.
He is just 1 person representing the 220 people who voted for him (me included). There are another 16 Councillors that were voted in. What do they all do for the Urb?
It is this quiet majority that we should be having a go at. At least Jeff gets things done.
We should have at least 9 Councillors representing the urb, not just Jeff.

I'm some ways your comments is very true... Why is everyone picking on Jeff. Well everyone is picking on Jeff as he took the role on as, councillor for the urbanisation, hence anything that happens on this Urb people will go after Jeff for. He should not of took on that role then, it's a huge responsibility for one man to take control of.
As for the votes, the PP - PIPN took 355 votes on the Urb collectively. The reason the PP had so many seats was the fact the majority of the Spanish people in San Fulgencio votes for the PP probably because they had had enough of the PSOE and other groups in that coalition.
Regardless of what I've said above it all comes down to the fact, Jeff is the only councillor for the urbanisastion, so what ever goes wrong, what ever happens for the good/bad he will take full responsibility for it. That's why a lot of people are getting fed up, aggravated, and dis illuisoned with this council now.
