Please..........please...........please, can we change the subject about noise. Look We have a bar here, but I can see both sides to the story. Clearly a compromise needs to be reached here but this forum will not find the compromise for us. I belive that the residents and bar owners of each area need to get together and try to sort something out.
Sykwalker, I know you are upset and as you say you need to make a living to. I appreciate that, but you cant expect people who have invested their life savings here to walk away ( even if they wish they had never started a business here) We dont regret opening a bar, but certainly if we'd known what was going to happen economically we wouldnt have done it at the time I did. Four years in and we're not prepared to throw the towel in. The sad thing is as Gordon has said, once you have lost everything where do you go? The simple answer is back to England as there is nothing here for you. So as everyone has already pointed out this has a bad effect on things here. Less people means more businesses closing ( not just bars resturants and cafe) and could eventually mean you lose the doctors, police station, town hall etc.
This is a sad situation and I really do hope a compromise can be reached.
