ELECTRICITY & WATER

In the economic climate Spain finds itself in I am surprised that people who run a business have such a hard time of it trying to get Water & Electricity re-connected to their premises. I can understand why people, who leave their premises have them disconnected to avoid standing charges but, it seems so bureaucratic to me that it takes such a long time for things to happen here. Surely it would be in the interests of the Companies to get people up and running so they can claim more revenue. Just as a matter of interest, I wonder how many people in the San Fulgencio area are without these basic commodities. They say you can open without a licence if you are within a certain square footage but, do everything in their power to stop you having these basic needs. Well it seems like that from where I am sitting. Surely it is the easiest thing in the world to turn a key or flick a switch. Perhaps I am expecting too much. After all we have only been open 8 weeks without electricity and a useable toilet.

You never know Andi somebody might read it and do something about it. There must also be other people out there in the same position. I cannot be the only person on this Urb waiting for the power or powers that be to sign a piece of paper. Of course the "said person" could have writers cramp from working to hard. So if there is no one else out there waiting then I should be next on the list. If I don't get electricity soon we will be working by candlelight, back to Victorian Times.
