Emaus childrens home charity funday

Hello my name is Debbie Law and i am here to ask for help in supporting us to raise much needed funds for the Emmaus Childrens Home in Elche Currently there are 28 children in the home and They are really Struggling to even Have a basic day to day standard of human living ie bathing eating baisc hygine Needs met as all Gouvernment Funding Has Been Withdrawn and now the children and staff are basicly left to fend for Themselves we are holding a funday to raise funds to help cover the basic Costs of food toieltries and utility bills i would like to see if you all Could you spare anything by way of raffle prizes any thing a bottle of something a meal vocher anything at all from bar owners or other buisnesses or even a small cash donation we welcome help from everyone who can give some compassions to these children we also are in urgent need of bags of rice or pasta or Any Other dried or tinned food goods we will arrange for someone to meet to collect the items The funday is to be help on the 15th of Septmber at the La Campana bar at the Eden urb Guadamar this will be an amazing day and we hope you all will give us a helping hand so these children do not have to suffer any more than they already are many thanks for your time reading my email adress should you wish more info is [email protected] the avatar pic is of the poster for our funday please spread the word we really need all the help we can get many thanks debbie xxx

Debbie,I am a grown man ,and you have brought me almost to tears,after reading your comment.
My first thought, is how can the people who are meant to be running Spain,ignore Children by denying them the basics of life,Yes for the first time in five years,You have made me realise that perhaps I dont want to live in Spain,if this is what they do to Children.
What has happened to society,when people have to practically beg,for the basics of life for 28 children
I hope your funday is successful,and that people donate prizes,gifts and cash,by the bucker load.
Let us show this Government that we can do,what they choose to ignore,and that is to get this Childrens Home on a safe firm footing.

Having been to the Emaus home in Elche and seen for myself I can add my request for people help this cause. If you could see the joy these children have and the love and the way they relate to each other and look out for each other , it is truly lovely. The staff are much loved and appreciated, and ALL state funding has been withdrawn. To the best of my knowledge the staff have not been paid for 3 months, but they keep plugging away for the sake of the children.
If this home has to close it would be a real tragedy!

What Debbie states is very true. The entire Network of EMAUS has lost huge amount of government funding. This was one of the main reason Impact Charity voted at are AGM back in Jan of this year to make donations to the children's home in Elche. We work very closely with Anette and Dave English who for the past 8 years have made it there day to day life to find raise for EMAUS. Members of impact charity make regular visits to the home in Elche and we help as much as we can. If any members of the public would like to make donations to the home via Impact Charity then please pop it into the shop.
The home needs as much help as possible.

When I went through the checkout at Iceland today I noticed that the Food For The Needy trolley for donated food items has been replaced with a trolley for Emaus.

Impact Charity are a drop off point for EMAUS children's home Elche. Clothes, donations and so on. These are then collected by Anette and Dave English who make trips to the home few times a week.
Anyone wishing to find out more in depth info regarding the home should speak to Anette at the fiesta she will have a tombola / stall. This is the only lady on the Urb who can give you correct facts regarding the home.

We would like to thank Vera and the gentleman who came in to the shop this morning made a great donation of food for EMAUS children's homeElche. It was down to the fact they had been reading the forum and saw the appeal from Debbie and the fact we are a drop off point for the kids home regarding food, donations of all types.
The food is being collected Monday and taken to the home.
A big thank you to all the readers on the forum.

Great to see that the Emaus appeal,is getting some positive results,also remember this is not a one week appeal,but is an every week appeal,Until the Spanish Government,put up some cash to help these Children

Sue, I have not been to the Iceland store in La Marina for a while but I do remember the last time I was there that there were two trolleys as you came out to donate items of food.
