Noise, it is now past a joke, the BARS and the Police need to sort it

If we are nor carefull, our home here in La Marina will end up just like some of the cities you see on Road Wars etc on UK TV.
First off, La Marina is a residencial area, people live hear, it is not a holiday resort.
When I drove home last night (sober) there was drunken fighting in Calle Del Parque, had a bottle thrown at my car, NO police. I will give you odds on where thay had come from !!!

Please remember a lot of people who live by these bars are Spanish and have lived on this urb from day one. I do know quite a few Spanish who live around the Consum area, so how can you tell them to go back home, this is their home.
As I have already said I am not against the bars, but they MUST obey the law, keep the noise down, and STOP serving foul mouth drunks, if you were to swear and shout in my local back home then you would be banned.
If this problem is not resolved ASAP, god forbid the Spanish and possibly other nationalities get in touch with the dept in Valencia who control the bar licences, if that happens, then everyything with get clamped down on. Think about it, Gambling is illegal, so no more bingo, Please don’t tell me they only play for points, we all know that one of the new bars on the Consum complex pays our cash in the back room.

I have just copied this from the “See posts from all areas” Everyone need to read this guy's post, it's heart breaking. SORRY, if this is what is happening around the CONSUM area, then yes, they need ban all music in that area.

well here i am at 4.19 a,m unable to sleep for all the shouting singing and swearing going on outside in the street.Same thing on Wednesday night when the police to their credit did turn out to see first hand what life is like here after midnight.It did stop the music and they did close the doors as per the law dictates but the they need to be more robust in moving revellers on after closing time as they do in Quesada at midnight.The Town Hall must have been deliberately antagonistic to grant 4.0 a.m closing licences to one of these bars bearing in mind the proximity to the existing houses.Do we have any bars in San Fulgencio with a licence this late.Of course not ,so all the revellers from off the Urb.come here to make problems for us.When the Consum area was first proposed only a few neighbours were canvassed to see if an objection would be raised which of course wasn,t.But later when the pilings were started for the second building a delegation went to the Town Hall to enquire what was going on and after messing us about for over an hour were told they didn,t know.These were the people who were running this Urb.and are now out of office but they have left us with a legacy they cannot be proud of since it was all done without any dialogue with the people who mattered.I have lived here for 23 years adhered to the rules and regulations of my adopted country for what amounts to 30% of my life so i,m not going away .Those of you who say that we could move are dreaming .The economy of this country will not pick up for 5 years by which time most of these bars will be gone .Noise pollution is recognised by the World Health Organisation as the biggest problem in modern living such that the EU has a special unit within the Court of Human Rights to deal with complaints.Recent cases in Spain alone has resulted in hefty fines and closures of offending premises as was seen in Elche recently.The problem is that serious that it is now a criminal offence to allow the noise by offending businesses to continue and the courts hold individual councillors responsible .I wonder whether businesses are issued with the regulations when applying for their aperturer.Clearly this situation cannot continue much longer before the matter is taken out of the local,s hands.There are more people resident here now and do not frequent the bars so the sooner the Town Hall stop thinking this is front line Benidorm the better.Oh,its 4.50 and the noise has stopped i guess i,ll go to bed now.Wonder if i,ll get any sleep to morrow night.

Have read your comment,but it seems to say that I suggested that I posted "Why dont you all move back to where you come from",I did reply to the following comment from williboy but I would never suggest what you said,,and cannot see where you got it from.If I am wrong and you didnt mean it as I read it,then it is no problem,but if you actually saw it please let me know,and I will immediately change it and apoligize.

It's not ment in that way as in go back home if you don't like it. After reading that long long post by williboy I do feel for you. All I can suggest is if the music is loud the call the police make a complaint. I think someone mentioned on here that even if it's under the decibel limit the person who makes the complaint can keep complaining and the bar have to turn there music off. Well do that, keep tuning the police and make them work.
If that does not work then I suggest video record all the bars with your phone or cam-corder. There's your proof and then the council will have I act I guess.
Sometimes you have to go beyond the call of duty to get things sorted. I think it's obvious this will never be resolved in a good way.
Don't want to end this on a bad note, but you have got another 6 full months of loud music till earl morning hours as the summer is about to begin.

I think it should be left to the powers that be. Let Valencia, close 2 or 3 bars, (after all there is far too many anyway) and you can guarantee the remaing bars might think about their neighbours and keep the noise inside.

I have lived over here for 10 years and enjoy going out for entertainment and a few drinks. I have yet to witness a drunken brawl on La marina so where do you get that I don't?

Good thing is we have all been able to voice
on this.
And has we don't have the powers to sort any of this out ourselves, so be best
go and see Jeff but has a cooperative rather than individuals and sort this out once and for all for the best of La Marina
Other than that we will be just going around in circles.

Firstly sorry to hear about the trouble you recently observed, In response to your question no I we didn't hear or see anything that williboy described, once again I can't speak for the other bars however I can confirm on the night in question we was closed with shutters down by 1.15am our customers are mainly in there 50s to 70s so they dont tend to drink past 12.30am on the weekends.

you didn't mention which police you called when you saw the fight & bottle thrown, surly this kind of behaviour needs to be reported ?? look forward to your response, Also in response to gambling & bingo, yes we do have bingo in our bar as do many bars on the urb, as far as I'm aware nobody exchanges cash in any of my "back rooms" I'm sure you live a perfectly legal lifestyle, do you own a television do you receive british tv that's illegle in Spain ??? i'm sure your very squicky clean ???

So to be honest golfer you have just made your self look silly. Your all up on Spanish life complaining about bars ad noise and drunks blah blah. There you were seeing hat you saw but yet did not call the police. So why are you moaning on here, any normal person who sees what you said you saw wi at least call the police. Abit of a hypicrit to be honest ain't ya.

I think that sometimes you see things on this forum that look suspicious,and the thing about the williboy comment was that williboy had never,to my recollection made a comment on Spanish Life before (nothing wrong with that,must always be a first time for anything)but he supposedly lived within shouting distance of the cosume area,yet his comment didnt appear on the La Marina sight,but on the all area link,If I was joining in a discussion,I would put it on the part of the forum where the discussion is taking place and not get it on a part of a web site which had no connection to the discussion.In fact it wouldnt of appeared on the la Marina section if Golfer hadnt of done it.
I did mention in a much earlier comment, that some bars and restaurants may or may not be breaking rules,but to be careful,because a lot of people have broken rules and we dont want police knocking on doors checking everything we have done to our property etc.
On saying this it may be time to call the discussion to a close,although if it is carried on I will still put my two pennorth in.

Is this really a subject that you would like to pursue. If so how far do you want to go. Is it your belief that the majority that come into your bar are living here in Spain totally legal, on the padron, with residency certificate, making tax declarations (in Spain)! Maybe you should ask all your customers to show you a residencia certificate to gain entry to your bar!

what is your problem with the hogs head.
he quite simply pointed out that golfer keeps going on about being legal and doing things legally.
what other people do and how they live their life is nothing to do with them being customers.
the hogs are just doing a job, and providing a service and entertainment to the people of la Marina, and people that come and holiday here, spending there money here in La Marina.
What the minority of idiots do when they leave any of the bars on the urb, is not the responsibility of the bar owners. so i think its about time this whole subject is put to sleep.
One thing i can say, is this sort of nastiness and bitching, is not on forums from other URBS.
yet they have, bars, clubs, cafes, entertainment, etc.
