Sat Nav
Our lovely friend and neighbour wants to know whether she should buy a new Sat Nav as hers is 7 years old, or whether there is a way of updating the one she has.

I think you can update some sat navs but at a price, maybe cheaper to buy a more updated state of the art new model with free future updates depending on what use you have for it, as most updates are already out of date anyway!!
Thank you 2nd casa, so do you no where the best place is to buy a new one please.
Hola Linda
I would think places like crappy4 or maybe the internet Amazon etc.
2nd Casa, should that read Carrefour or did you really mean crappy4?
I have been advised that if it is a Tom Tom and is a model still updateable it would cost about another £40 or €50 euros to update. This can be done on the Tom Tom website. You may however find that the model your friend has is so old as not to be able to update. As with a lot of manufacturers of personal technology after so much time they don't update as they want you to buy new. If you need to buy new look for a Sat Nav that has a special offer of free lifetime updates. We have a Garmin model which had free lifetime updates as an incentive to buy but Tom Tom sometimes have similar offers.
