yesterday evening at approx 7.15pm, a friend and I were walking home from the carol singing at the social centre, we were walking past the sports complex when I was grabed by a male around 25 years old. He demanded money and when I said I had none, he pulled a large knife from his back pocket and threatened me with it. My friend and I managed to pull him into the road (he still had a tight hold on my wrist)and into the path of a passing car. At this point he let go of me and run off and the motorist stopped and helped us and called the police. The police where there within seconds and started a search of the area, unfortunatley they did not find him.
I would advise any females and elderly not to walk alone after dark as I belive if there had not been 2 of us it could have been a very serious outcome.

I went to the sports complex today with a small gift and to again say thankyou to the young guy who stopped to help us. He works in the bar there and I think his name is santonio? he is Italian, I was told that he won't be there until 3rd January. If anyone knows him please can you say that I was hoping to thank him again in person today

What an appalling thing to happen to anyone, we are so sorry to hear about it. Sounds like Santi helped you. His mum and dad, Peter and Luisa, own the sports complex and the hillside. It would be the sort of thing Santi would do to help.

That is bloody awful, and at 7.15 pm which is not late. That area is always seem a bit dark. Glad you are ok, you must be a bit shaken up.Glad someone came to your aid, shows everyone is not the same. All you females don't let it put you off going out just take more care.

Would you believe it, Rick and I were out for dinner last night and in walks Santi. Not seen him since Rick last played the Club in Quesada in October. We asked him about your awful experience and he said he just did what he could to help. We passed on your thanks which he was pleased about. Proves the world is not all bad.
