So sorry to hear about the current predicament
Surely someone has got to guide the bar owners as to why this has happened and how to rectify the situation
Could this be driven from a financial position by the Spanish local Goverment?
As a holiday home owner I would hope this is rectified soonest to enable the bars to survive what is always there slowest time of the year.
I would hope that the councillor for the urb is pro active in seeking a solution to this debacle as this is the time when politicians should be earning their money for the good of their constituents.

But surely if you have the correct paperwork etc you can carry on ? with entertainment ? or is it a general vendetta against all of the bar owners in La Marina by the sad few to bring the area down

I wish someone who runs a bar would explain this.
You can have a licence to sell drink, to do food blah blah but obtaining a official music licence comes down to an architect, that can run into hundreds of euros possibly thousands. Then you have to get the correct sound proofing blah blah.
For the past 18-20 years the Spanish government have ignored certain rules and laws because it brings tourists and money in. The entire Spanish economy is in free fall and will be for a while so they now want there taxes now want there money.
When you employ someone here you have to pay a monthly tax for them, a lot of bars will pay cash in hand because they can't afford to pay the taxes that Kate from Cagneys has mentioned. So now the situation with the illegal music the bars are now going to have lay off the people who are not contracted to there bars so this music thing will have a bigger impact than most people think.
I just cannot believe this council can't or won't give info over to residents NOW.
Everyone knows someone's who reads this forum info is passed around so quick from this forum.
Jeff you are a good man as Jeff, but when it comes down to being in politics your having a laugh. Why would anyone want to get in politics when in reality you can't change anything.

It's a joke. Family have been here since 1997 permanently and I ain't ever known it like this. Lived in torre first off and why is it this town is the only place that is having trouble.

I heard from a very reliable source that Woody was singing at the Sports Complex last night, so how come some places are still having entertainment while others are not?

Unfortunately you can complain as much as you like on this forum,it will change nothing.Until you have the guts to get out there and confront this council(who I personally think,are at the hub of this matter,I just dont understansd why)
This Council has used Jeff,to feed us so much rubbish,that i find it unbelievable that they have one ounce of credibility left.
They will only realise,when we kick up as much noise as possible,that they as Councillors work FOR us and not against us.I have read so much rubbish from the Council when they were trying to kid us that they had our thoughts in mind,and were doing their best to sort out the supposed Bar problem.It was they who set it up from the start.the so called 70 complaints that Valencia had received,mostly from bar owners,what absolute crap,funny that hardly any bar owner has seen one iota of proof of these complaints,how many denouncias have been issued,?I doubt if any have because we would then know the complainent.In my mind these complaints are mostly in the mind of the beholder,it has been council set up from the start.Why wont they give us true figures of complainents to Valencia to San Fulgencio and to the Police,My thought is because the figures they fed you are a pack of lies.
But it keeps our minds off them having us moaning about what a load of rubbish this council is,but keeps us thinking it is the bar owners who are the naughty boys.
