Jeff you mentioned a dew days ago about a Protection Civil group that is being formed.
This sounds interesting,and i wonder if you could explain what this group will try to achieve,will they be volunteers,or paid staff.
How many people will make up this group and so on.
Hi Alan, I don't know if you were around for the 10K run but the Protection Civil were there from Alicante. We are hoping that we will get sufficient volunteers from our own area to form our own Protection Civil.
We are looking to start off with around 12 persons. The should be reasonably fit, between the ages of 17 and above. It would be advantageous if they spoke Spanish and English although not essential. Protection Civil are not Police Officers but are available in cases of emergency to assist, if required. They will be utilised for events where there are large numbers of the general public. Public safety is their main aim. Anyone interested , should call in at our offices on Calle Madrid, for more information, re courses and expectations from the volunteers.
