LA MARINA BOWLS CLUB REPORT

LA MARINA ASTRONAUTS. win by 10 points to 4 against La Siesta Pioneers, looks like everyone fought hard with some extremely close scores, but our highest winning rink this time was led by Maggie Sadler, Carol Smith and skipped by Martin Butler 28-6. The overall shots were 108-84.

LA MARINA PATHFINDERS - WOW… this one was tight, the overall shots were 101 to La Marina and 99 to Monte Mar, giving us a win by 8 points to 6. there were several high scoring rinks but the biggest difference came from Mo Taylor, Peter Bailey and skip Dave Taylor with a score of 26-10.

LA MARINA EXPLORERS - Unfortunately the wheels came off for us, we were up against a very talented squad from San Luis so the best we could do was 2 points to 10, everyone hopes for a better result next time, very well done to Ron Maiden, Barry Sadler and skip Bill Sims who played a tight game against a good team and came out winners by 21-11.

LA MARINA DOLPHINS - Well done to you all, against La Siesta Golds, our first 14 points to 0 of this season, and a fantastic 134 shots to 76, I wish I could mention all the teams by name, but not enough room, yet again another whopping 34-4 go to Martin Butler, Cliff Rawlinson and skip Brian Duff.

LA MARINA SEAGULLS. Our game against Mazarron Miners this afternoon ended up as a close game the points were as follows, La Marina 6 to Mazarron 8, shots were tight, 84-99. the best winning rink was Mo Barker, Jean Perchard and skip Terry Perchard winning 21-9

DIV “A”

LA MARINA SHARKS - OK… we almost kept up with the Dolphins, an amazing 12 points to 2 and an almost equal shot diff of 134-79

We were against La Siesta Blues away, two of the teams reached the “30s” Margaret Mclaughlin, Peter Parsons and Barry Latham had 32-12 but I guess the top spot goes to Andy Bartlett, Martin Webb and Alan Castle with 30-6.

Glad we had the “Parsons” with us…..sorry they missed their cruise !!!!!!

On the social side, a big thank you must go to Bill Jones and his merry band for organizing yet another great monthly quiz night at the club, 21 teams enjoyed friendship, (well only if they won!) a great meal, and being together in competition, well done Bill x
