Councillor Jeff & His Jaguar.

Maybe I should post this in the "New deputy Mayor" thread as it's most recent reference is therein, however it is not relevant to that thread and is included only as a political snipe! As such I thought a explanation of this popular talking point maybe best offered in isolation.

Firstly the car is registered to Jeff's wife Jean. It was purchased in the UK during 2013 and came to Spain during May of the same year. Shortly after is's arrival in Spain I was approached by them and asked the important questions of A. How much to Spanish register the car? B. How soon must the process be carried out?
Having calculated the cost of the re registration, I then advised them that the process must be started within 6 months of the vehicle coming to Spain and completed within 3 months from then.

As the 6 months drew to a close I began the process, the car had an engineers report completed, successfully passed an Importation ITV test and a ficha technica was issued. Then the car was included in the ITVM system and registered with SUMA, the bill for the balance of the year was then payed. The final part of the registration process was to pay the registration taxes at Hacienda and then make an appointment at trafico Alicante to complete the process and issue a a registration number and a "Permiso de Ciculacion". It should be noted that you cannot just appear at Trafico now and you must make an appointment ahead of time. In line with this new system an appointment was made for 27th Dec at 9.08am to complete the process.
We were however unable to keep this appointment as the gentleman who was to complete the administrative duties for me, Big Ian Baker of Angel Expat Services sadly died suddenly of a heart attack on boxing day.

After the bombshell of Ian's death I thought it only decent to allow a couple of weeks before approaching his widow to retrieve the paperwork for the pending jobs.

I now have this and as such the Jaguar will have Spanish plates very shortly.

To reiterate the car has been and remains fully legal during the whole process.

I am Sure that Jeff will have no objection to me posting this as these are the facts relating to this car.
