Road Update

That is very surprising seeing as we are in August, but very good news. Just hope they finish the job now that they have finally started it. Hope it's dry by the time I drive on it tomorrow - I do not wan't my tyres to get ruined ! They should have done this before they opened the road for public use.

Yes, I think that would of been a much better idea, although they haven't actually started tarmacing the bottom road itself yet.

But with the heat it is going to take a long time for the tar to dry.

Good to see work is on going again.
Although I didnt think the repairing and re tarmacing of the bottom road was part of the plan,I read that the Alicante Diputante had given San Fulgencio
299,000 euros ,just for the piece of road that is being completed now.
But if they fix the rest of the bottom road all well and good

Yes but will they start on the road into the urb next?
What will they do to the bridge or will they leave it unfinished?

Regarding other work on roads in San Fulgencio,I gather the money for these do not come from our Sumas,but the Local Council(whichever party is in power at the time)go cap in hand to the larger authorities i.e.Alicante Diputante,valencian community or spanish government,to aquire the money to pay for this work.
The money for the road works on the back road out of la Marina was granted early 2010,but took a year to get.As i havent heard of any grants since then it looks at the earliest that no roads will be built for at least two years and could be a lot longer

Just to let everyone know, yesterday they started tarmacing the whole of the bottom road off the urbanisation, so the dirt track that is they other side of the canal is now being used for two way traffic - scarry!!!!

A Nightmare this afternoon - 2-way traffic on a dirt track which included lorries - avoid at all costs for the time being.
