Back from fantastic holiday in La Marina :(

Hola,
I am just back in U.K from a fantastic month long holiday in La Marina.
There was nothing I would not repeat again next holiday, here are many of the happy times my family shared.

Excursions to Aitana Safari- amazing day, up, up & up a mountain most beautiful scenery, up close & personal with free roaming animals- What a fun experience following the feeding truck, watching 2 hippos mouths wide open, waiting for the keeper to throw in 2 whole pineapples & crunch...hahaha oh the spray & smell of pineapple filled the air. David's Coach Trips.

Algar Waterfalls & Guadalest- I could never imagine these places exist, truly beautiful, the ice cold water was an amazing experience as it was almost 40 up there that day- Rosa Tours

Murcia City- Beautiful buildings, Market Day, relaxing tapas, drinks & relaxed family games of cards in bars watching the world go by.David's Coach Tours

Benidorm Old Town-Great walk along the pretty promenade enjoying some truly amazing sand sculptures, eventually reached the port & took a mini cruise to the Island in the sea on a glass bottom boat-WOW!! My children loved seeing thousands of fish at the bottom & divers waving. A delicious meal on the walk back.-Rosa Tours.

A fabulous day with a picnic in the park at Guadamar, beautiful park with lake, roaming Ducks, Peacocks, Red Squirrels, took a whole Lettuce to feed the ducks/Swans, they were fed up of bread! Ended with a visit to Ice-cream Parlour along the road...Lush!!!

Several visits to the Hillside Aqua Park on Calle Bilbao- Very relaxed enjoyable day-Great family complex.

Numerous beach days at La Marina- Love the beach-Outstanding lifeguard service & nice to see their amazing inclusion of disability services to enjoy the sand & sea.

A day visit to La Marina Camping, fantastic new Water Park there!

We Enjoyed many family meals at the following venues, every one enjoyed-:
Mullberry's- Love the food here, enjoyed many evenings.
Manhatten Island- Delicious
Grand China- Love this cheap & cheerful
Crumbs-Fantastic & OMG CAKES!!!
Pizza Hugo-Yummy
Casa Mia-Nice!
Hogs Head Thursday Club_ Great food, Fabulous Celina Deans!!!
Our Plaice-Outstanding Fish & Chips

We met many lovely people along the way & left your lovely part of our world with the sweetest memories.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday and I wish more people especially the locals would post more positive thing on here instead of all the negatives. You are of course correct it is a great place to stay, friendly locals , good bars & restaurants ,great beach , central for touring , handy for the Airports.

Thank you for posting that account of your holiday here Patricia, positively a change from all the doom and gloom that often gets onto this site. What I found most interesting was the use you made of the coach trips,seems they were good fun and value. One question I would love to ask did you have a hired car while here?

Hi Hope,
Yes we did have a hired car, used for nearer trips, like Guadamar, Torrevieja, Orihuela, further afield shopping centres & the beach.
All of the Coach Trips we chose can be self driven, and many people do, we chose to use the great value coach trips as they had the advantage of almost door to door, an informative tour guide & much more relaxed than driving in unfamiliar places, some of which were in remote places like at the top of steep mountains!
I think we could have done our holiday without the car but we enjoyed the convenience of it.
