Banco Sabadell. How to lose friends and customers

As a customer of Lloyds Bank International,I was informed that they had been bought by Sabadell, not particulary bothered about what name my bank traded under,so I went with the flow........UNTIL. a couple of months ago, Sabadell then informed me that my annual service charge would be approx. 100 Euros, which was a large increase over the previous payment to Lloyds which was 25 Euros, that was bad enough, but a couple of weeks later I was sent a further bit of information which was that the charge had gone up a further 10 euros a year,I went to my bank and ask what other accounts could be more advantageous to me, and was told they did not have that information, and would have to wait until the official changeover which varies from the 15 th to the 29th March. which was a clear way of telling, that I had no choice but to pay 85 euros extra for absolutely nothing.
Unfortunately for them I do have a choice, which I used today, so Sabadell you have lost yet another punter.
To rub salt into the wound Lloyds took money out of my account this morning to cover the first 3months charges for Sabadell, Which is surely some sort of theft as my annual charge with Lloyds doesn't expire until June.
Has anybody else noticed this sort of scam happening to them

La Marina

They have lost us too ....... we went down to Lloyds in Guardamar last week, we banked with Halifax Banco Hispania, which then changed to Lloyds and have never paid any bank charges, as long as we kept 600 euros and the a/c and we also transferred money from out Halifax a/c in the UK free too. The only charge we ever paid was for our bank cards - so when they explained what the bank charges would be we were not happy.

So on Monday we went into the Deutsche Bank at the top of La Marina (they had been recommended to us by quite a few different people), and immediately a lady came over to help us, we found out her name is suzi.

She sat us down and went through a couple of different options and the one we have chosen will cost us 28 euros twice a year with 9 euros ea. for our bank cards,(but they are free for the first year), she will also contact everyone you have direct debits / standing orders with and change everything over for you. There was also an option of an a/c with free banking if you set up a transfer of 600 euros going into the a/c everyone, which we may change to at a later date.

And, like you say my husband went online today and thers is a charge that we have never seen before on the online statement with Lloyds, so we will be queering this charge.

I was with Solbank many years back. They also used to regularly rob my account of what they laughlingly called "manager's fees". Just another name for extortionate bank charges. I have long since transferred my account to Banco Santander at Plaza Sierra Castillo and now the manager there, Valentine deals with everything for me - at no charge whatsoever. I have never had a more helpful bank manager. They are very customer orientated. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone

Yep nikki, It was Santander who I went to, and was so impressed with the staff, No charges as long as we were pensioners and one of us had our pension paid in Spain, Everything clearly explained, and by the time we left the bank, My Wife had changed her Pension payment (Santander even made the phone call), all our direct debits taken care of, and also on line banking sorted. Great service and a special thank you to Neiver for making it so easy and painless.

We have now changed our accounts to the Deutsche Bank and cancelled Sabadell we found the staff at sabadell very unfriendly and unhelpfull, Susi at the Deutsche Bank is wonderful and so helpful, we both have our pensions paid in and have no charges at all, would highly recommend them to anyone

I have been with Halifax, then Lloyds and the only charges ever were for our debit cards. Having questioned the lady in Lloyds yesterday about all the charges they are lining up she basically said, call into the branch after the 15th of March - which is changeover day - and as long as we have funds going into the account each month ( she didn't commit herself as to the amount) there would be no charges, apart from €9 per year for each debit card. We will therefore be giving them a fighting chance.

Giver them a chance by all means but I pay nothing for my debit card and I am with Santander as I said before. You could not find better service.
