BBQ Party

I believe yesterday (Sunday 18th Jan) was the day for the Annual BBQ which is held down on Oasis.
People can get together in groups of 8 or more and on proof of a Padron, receive a large quantity of free food (rabbit, chicken, sausage, bread and other delights) but you have to supply your own drinks.
I've attended a couple of these party's, although it's been about 6 yrs since i've been, but not knowing how or where to go for details ,my friends used to arranged it for me.

Just a couple of points,
(1) Does the Council advertise this party or is it kept secret to keep numbers down ?
(2) Do many people on here know of this BBQ taking place ?
(3) Will it be common knowledge next year ?

the photos are on san fulgencio council web site.
As normal they were hung on a stick paraded around the village while the band played and the priest police and councillor's strutted about. I don't believe the animals are killed, but I do believe it is cruel . I have off course put my comments on the wed site. I would ask others to do the same.

I've just viewed the video and I find it disgusting to say the least. The poor chickens, still alive, are tied upside down on a pole and paraded round town, while idiots in suits and fancy coats laugh and joke at their victims.
This has probably been going on for many years and, I guess, meant something way back like thanks to God for all we receive, but to still be doing it now, is cruelty at it's worst.
Ok, i'm English and this is a Spanish tradition, keep your nose out I can here the Spanish saying, but surely, there's no need for this these days.
