Door to Door Police Checks.

Good to see the local police are doing house to house checks asking to see residencia cards and passports.
So now they are going door to door to make sure people are here legally or not overstayed there 180 odd days #padronchecks

All neighbours were checked too

La Marina

Seems a bit pointless to me.
Has nearly if not all' own there own home they are in. And not claiming any State benefits

Why not do it in England ?

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2013-11-04 18:08:40 UTC

I take it they were real police men It seems very odd. I have never know such a thing and I have been here from 2002. Just cannot see the point of it all. There is no way of telling from a passport how long you have been in the country. A lot of man hours wasted on random house calls? very odd. Unless they are actually looking for someone in a particular area it make no sense at all. I feel a conspiracy theory coming on......................lol
hope I have all my full stops in place.....lol

Commented rose in La Marina 2013-11-04 20:30:18 UTC

Alan,
Although we were not at home I understand that the Police did visit those neighbours of mine who were and that they were only checking on who was on the pardon or not, no residentia or passport checks were carried out at my neighbours.
Additionaly I do not know why the local police turn up with blue lights flashing when they are merely carrying out administrative and simple duties?
I remember a year or so ago when I applied for planning permission to build a pool, my planning permission was delivered at 8pm by two local police motor cyclists with blue lights on both bikes! Most dramatic, eyebrows raised by the neighbours and explanations sought for what turned out to be a non-event!

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-11-05 08:08:42 UTC

That's your excuse, ha, swimming pool licence, ha. Is that what you told the neighbours ?
You sound a bit "dodgy" to me.

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2013-11-05 10:11:29 UTC

StockportDave
Of course I told my neighbours I was building a pool because that is what I did. Even though they have swam in it they still believe today that because the police turned up with blue lights flashing I must have at least murdered someone!
It was a bit like Downtown Chigago that night!

Commented Friendlyviking in La Marina 2013-11-05 11:11:43 UTC

Pardon me Friendlyviking, was it really a pardon they wanted or was it the padrón they wanted to se. Just wondering. They haven't been to my house. Not yet.

yep got my pardon, residencia and car is legal, did all that stuff myself. and before you ask its not a English car its a Italian car so the steering wheel is in the correct place. If some young police man were to stop me, I'm sure it would be the highlight of my day.

I'm Dyslectic what are you Dave a plonk!!! yes you re in my opinion !!>><,,,,,,, If you want a serious debate about the use of words and how they affect 10% of people feel free, but if you just want to be a condescending AH carry on that up to you to .

Back to the thread A police man called at my neighbors home, he wanted to see residencia, padron and
passport. Neighbor asked why.
The police man said they have 4000 home to go to the reason is that when people leave Spain they fail to remove them self from the list. The town hall is trying to remove peoples names from the list that are no longer living in La marina. Neighbor has confirmed that the ex owners of the house have now been removed from the pardon list, he also went to see Jeff who confirmed this is the reason for the police going door to door.
I am pleased they are doing this a 2 years ago I attempted to remove X Husbands name from the Padron only to be told that I could not do it. They handed me s form and told me people have to fill forms in if they wish to be removed.

Peter |I will try my best to enplane why sell check will not always work for dyslexic. Firstly when reading words are supported but shrouding words. When a spelling is wrong and a dyslexic hits the spell check they are faced will a list of words. to a dyslexic they all look the same. there is no supporting words.
There are numerous reasons why the dyslectic and not see the difference. one of the most common reasons is that the letters just jump about. I would add that dyslexia has nothing what so ever to do with intelligence I will add a list of well know dyslectics http://www.dyslexia.com/famous.htm

Commented rose in La Marina 2013-11-07 17:45:06 UTC

Its a bit like going up to a really fat guy and saying, my gosh you are fat why don't you just stop eating. If you were to do that then most people would consider you very rude . same thing

Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2013-11-07 18:39:03 UTC

StockportDave, your not being to understand why you're the 'bad guy' is not my problem, I'm sure you'll get it in the end (eventually). But please 'grammer' and 'intelligable', while questioning the UK education system AND Rose?

Rose, congratulations on your spelling of 'arsehole' and 'plonk', knowing the ladies of Yorkshire, you no doubt have a few more words to describe StockportDave that I couldn't spell.

Stockportdave, David, Davehowells2003 (Peter, you get away with it because I suspect you come from Rochdale and I came from Ashfield Valley). The main problem I have, is with picking people up on grammar and spelling. It discourages the swapping of information.

That is why I support ant anyone who stands up there I'm friends with both Jeff and Mark.they maybe from different camps but we should embrace the fact the Brits are trying. The politics here are 40 year behind England.
Why people believe that if someone can not see a word is spell wrong is beyond my understand. I know I'm not the only DYS on this forum but its there choice not to come out. My belief is if you exclude people because of of the written word you lose so much input after all Winston Churchill was DYS were would we be without him. I can be abrasive when I feel people don't understand This is my life and yes I have my coping mechanisms. One of then is sarcasm there is nothing you can say that i have never heard before . If you want to know ask. the spelling people and us the DYS all have to live together. My nature is not to lurk afraid to comment its to get in there . You attack me and I will cut you back and I have a life time of it. Commented Al Marina in La Marina 2013-11-08 12:35:43 UTC

Stockport Dave you were picking fault with Roses spelling when she had already explained that she has dyslexia. That is unforgivable. You then said to Rose. Bloody hell fancy being married to you. That was a cheap blow and personally if you were my husband I would have put strychnine in your morning cuppa. It takes a lot of courage for a dyslexic person to write on a forum such as this and bigots such as yourself will only discourage them. Rose has provided some very useful information on this and other forums and the odd spelling mistake is negligible. Dyslexia is a recognised disability and your comments are discriminating. Would you poke fun at a man in a wheelchair? I would hope not but your comments to Rose nonetheless amount to the same. Please in future think before you put your bigoted opinions onto a forum such as this.

No wonder there's no peace in this world when people like you and a couple more on here have got such short fuses ! Now go and have a go at the chap taking the piss with "padron/pardon ! it seems you've got nothing better to worry about ?

Rose I understand your problems with Dyslexia, I teach at a school where a lot of the children have it. I think you do very well with your spellings and grammar and shame on those that mock you.... years ago schools did not recognise Dyslexia and therefore older people of today (my brother being one) was overlooked and called 'stupid' because of it. Its a 'condition' that was not easily spotted...children would write their b,d,p,q and numbers 3,5 wrong way round and simple spellings to me would be horrendous for someone with Dyslexia. So ease up on Rose, we can't all be the same or else the world would be boring and full of Stockport Dave's!!

Peter At last I'm thankful for a proper debate. We have now discovered why the police have been going door to door. Its to remove people from the padron who have left the area. The Padron in very similar to the electron role in England. On your point really I cannot see how police roaming about asking to see passports and residents cards, would have any bearing on crime and anti social behavior. I don't believe that one visit from the police would be enough for a drug addict or a criminal to change their ways.

In response to Peter I personally think it would be a wast of time. If a family were harboring an illegal they would just hide the fact.I don't believe that the police can invade you house to find out with out a warrant and they have to prove to the court there in just course.
While some illegal immigrants do commit crime I do not believe there are that main perpetrators in crime.
In fact its surprising how many people don't know the differences between a economic immigrant with a legitimate right to be in there country of choice. One thing that also surprised me about some people is that they see all foreigners as illegal immigrants. We have free movement of people throughout the EU. I would hazard a guess that drug related crime is one of the biggest crime in Britten today.

United Kingdom[edit]

See also: Immigration to the United Kingdom since 1922 and Race and crime in the United Kingdom

It was reported in 2007 that more than one-fifth of solved crimes in London was committed by immigrants. Around a third of all solved, reported sex offences and a half of all solved, reported frauds in the capital were carried out by non-British citizens.[31] A 2008 study found that the crime rate of Eastern European immigrants was the same as that of the indigenous population.[32]

wer'e not talking ''seeing all foreigners as illegal immigrants'' or ''freedom of movement in the EU''
the blog starts ''police checks on illegal immigrants''
Teresa May has not got a clue
Almost a fifth of all people charged with rape or murder last year were immigrants and some were deported only to return and commit more crime, it was revealed today.
Critics say new figures show the Government has an ‘open door policy’ that allows violent criminals from across the world to enter the UK.
Freedom of Information data from English and Welsh police forces show last year 91 immigrants were accused of murder while 406 were charged with rape - around one in five of all cases.
Fears: Almost one in five rape and murder suspects last year were immigrants and critics say it shows UK border controls are not tough enough
Fears: Almost one in five rape and murder suspects last year were immigrants and critics say it shows UK border controls are not tough enough
In London 174 out of 547 people accused of rape were from abroad, with the highest numbers from Jamaica, Nigeria, Poland and Australia.
While 40 out of 197 charged with murder in the capital last year were not British.
One infamous case from 2011 involved illegal immigrant Younas Beraki who was jailed for life after he murdered his ex-lover by pushing her 30ft from a bridge despite being deported from Britain three times.
Decapitated' Spanish student moved to Britain less than a year ago to work as a waiter
He shoved mother-of-one Genet Kidane on to a busy dual carriageway because he could not accept that she had ended their relationship.
Only weeks earlier, the failed asylum seeker from Eritrea in North-East Africa had been deported from the UK for a third time – but he smuggled himself straight back into the country in a lorry.
It bears out the public perception that our open door immigration policy doesn’t just attract decent migrants but serious and dangerous criminals.’

The official figures also give a regional picture of crimes by immigrants.
Kent had the highest amount of non-British murder suspects - 53%, followed by Surrey on 50% and Gwent on 40%.
London had a non-uk rape suspect rate of 32% last year, followed by Wiltshire with 30% and Hertfordshire on 27%.
These figures, showing up to half of suspects in some areas are from abroad, has raised questions about the monitoring and deportation of people entering Britain.

Firstly Andy was wrong about why the police was going door to door . I gave the source of my information I put on this site so that people can look for them self's and find out if they believe theses statistics,
If 50 immigrants do a crime I'm sure the hang them high will be making head lines. However we need to know how many of that type of crime happened.may be it was 400. I have given the source. I would suggest you do the same. Also for if you go on FB you might Ike to try the site Just the facts. They always give the source of there information,. Anyone one can spout racist proper-gander As you say people were deported only to smuggle them self back. I think there has been a cut back in border control when really there should be a increase. Over all through out Britten the illegal immigrant are not the main course of crime in Briton.
I wounder that you hanker back to the 50is, there was working men who eared a wage and didn't relies on benefits to make there wage up . Predominantly women stayed at home and looked after the home and the children. The fabric of the traditional family life has broken down and I feel that is why society is struggling

My question, not yet commented in a serious way, from the thread "Non residents being fined for driving a Spanish registered car" could maybe fit in here also. I mean this is also a Police matter. And it certainly is not a grammar or spelling comment. Maybe some Police-officer knows the answer. The text is as follows:
Can anyone explain if it in any way can be considered "mysterious" to have Recidencia certificate (EX-18, the green paper) which you need if you to stay longer time than 3 months and at the same time have No Residencia certificate (EX-15) which you need to have with you in your Spanish car because you stay less than 183 days in Spain each year. You live in another EU-country.
This is perhaps a mysterious question, but maybe someone knows the answer. It can be an interesting question for many who are in that situation.
