LA MARINA GOLF SOCIETY AT ALICANTE GOLF

Gold Winner - Steve Warner 28 points.

Thanks to a couple of late entries we had a reasonable turn-out for this meeting and the further we get from the Summer ,the more members are returning.

We were informed at the tee, that the Red markers had been moved forward to their extreme limits as a very elderly ladies group were out for a leisurely game in front of us. Our two ladies readily accepted the

Starters suggestion that they play off of the Blue tees ,but my suggestion that this becomes a permanent feature was politely discounted.

The course was not in its best condition as fairways had been recently spiked and greens were very slow, probably needing a manicure.

These reasons were probably why the scores were comparatively lower than of late.

NTP's Bill Stobbo, Alan Craig and Geoff Ettridge

Silver Winner - Geoff Ettridge 29 points

Gold Winner - Steve Warner 28 points.

We were then entertained {individually} by Geoff by his description of how he had won 3 sleeves of golf balls at one meeting and we left determined to match his achievement at future meetings.

Once again many thanks to the team at the Sports Centre for providing us with the victuals.
