Don't think its a contribution factor to there problems just the constant borrowing
as you can't devalue the currency!

Our? Who owns the time-zones?

We do. There's a clue in the 'G' bit

Its about time too - not that it will change anything as per the article on the link. But for me personally it would be much better. I would start my work at 0900 instead of having to wait till 1000 when the UK wakes up and starts work. I would also be able to go to bed earlier and not have to wait till 2300 for the news. Excellent idea.

I am talking about UTC. Not GMT. GMT is history. From From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Coordinated Universal Time (UTC; French: Temps Universel Coordonné) is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time. It is one of several closely related successors to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For most purposes, UTC is synonymous with GMT, but GMT is no longer precisely defined by the scientific community. Time zones around the world are expressed as positive or negative offsets from UTC.

Thought you'd come back with that one. Next you'll be coming back that BC is really BCE (Before Common Era, for those not as PC as Reindeer). I agree we should have put a patent on GMT.

Never to late to try!
But I agree that Spain should have UTC 0. And now Western European Summer Time. Ok?

Best stay with GMT, seems too many acronyms being bandied about. Plus, what happens to our East European Partners are they going to feel left out with WEST time?

Sometimes it's hard to learn something new. But it helps if you want to try.

I try not to quote from Wikipedia but seem to remember it was instigated from the French. Surely then 'Temps Universel Coordonné' should be TUC time? Look forward to the time (excuse pun) when the time is announced as "The time according to the TUC is 08:00".

?????????????????!
How hard can it be to use UTC instead of GMT when talking about time zones?
