I have been backing the council on this Forum recently,so I would like to think that they can take a bit of stick as well.
I think Councillor for Youfh and Tourism Borja,has done a great thing for the Youth of La Marina,in organising a rock concert,to take place in July.
After that can or will he do anything about the state of footpaths and kerbing in la Marina,this i think could come under the heading of tourism,which is his domain as well.It doesnt take a lot of time to look at the amount of vegetation sprouting through kerbs and paths to realise that if you were a tourist would it wow you and the answer must be a big no.
I realise that we will not get an answer on this forum and i understand the reasons for that,I also am pretty sure that a councillor or two read it,I do not mind an answer on the blog,In fact as yet the answers to questions on the forum have normally been answered very fully on Jeffs Blog
If you really want tourists to come to La marina and spend money here to make it prosperous and eventually get the youth of this area working,Entertainment is important but so is ambiance of the area,which at the moment is zilch.Is their any chance in the near future of getting the place tidied up,so that when people do travel in to La Marina for the entertainment they will think it is a nice place to come back to

Someone commented on A Spanish Life forum, about the state the roads and pavements were getting into because of trees and weeds taking over. The good news is that last week, the councillor for the gardens etc., Paulino Herrero, travelled around the Urb. with the maintenance manager for the Municipality. They highlighted many areas that required priority. The new team of gardeners and maintenance engineers, start this week and it is hoped that before the main summer influx of visitors, there will be a marked improvement in the area. If you think that your area is particularly bad, please call in to our office on Calle Madrid No. 5 and we will take note and pass it on to the the new company to try and have your area prioritised.

What can I say,But it looks like things are being sorted out before any one complains now.
