OUR TRAIN

Thank you Jeff for getting back to us about the Train, just a few quick thoughts.
So every other area other than La Marina can and will have a train ie; Torrevieja, Guardamar, Gran Alicant ect. The Train might not be a big money spinner but if our area is to encourage holiday makers the train is just one of those gimmicks that are needed. One comment though if it runs again far better publicity is needed as to where it goes and what is at the places where it goes to.
Even a lot of the residents were at a loss to its exact route. When a holiday maker comes on holiday they will not very often know the area and what, if anything, is on offer. This is the local Council's responsibility.
As for a Bus - how boring. The buses should be in place anyway.
Perhaps the new councillor for tourism, Borja should be getting in and taking some action on this subject.
Or is it the old chestnut that it was at La Marina and not at San Fulgencio??

Further to your post; I regret to say that many of the things that ran at a loss will have to be re-evaluated. The new Council's aim is to cut back on the debts left behind. I am sure that if there was a choice between raising taxes to subsidise a train, or utilising money available, to repair roads etc., I am sure I know what most people will chose. I am sure that if the train does run again, it's route and timetable will advertised to the utmost.
