How does that happen? Did anyone know your password? What security systems are used on this site? It's strange, the chap who fitted my Air con was adamant he couldn't get access to his advert on this site and got fed up of trying to contact Admin on here.

No idea how it happened.
Our church has NEVER been closed.......for any reason.

All adverts on this site are added by local businesses who must be logged in first, if an advert has been edited then this can only be done if you know the login details.

Sounds like you need to change your password Maz. Maybe Admin should review who has access to theirs as well.

Well thank you for telling me who did this ASL. The person who created this advert and who is the only person with the login code is no longer a member of this church, and has returned to the UK!!
Altering the ad to say that we were closed was a malice act. Nasty!!

You appear to be running a local Forum, So as you have never mentioned to my knowledge, which Country you are from.
The way you have answered Chalkie, over his funny remarks over your spelling. Makes me think of another person who makes comments and when someone jokingly says about his mistakes, He immediately replies that he is not a native English speaker, Just wondering if you and he are related

Yes you must be smarter than all of us because you can spell in English well done to you, I am sure your Spanish is just as good and maybe some of the other languages you speak and write in are of a high standard.

All I want to do is sort this sorry situation out, and ASL is not being helpful.
We are an English speaking church in La Marina, here to serve the community, which is difficult to do if the community thinks we are closed.

Apparantly my Chinese Mandarin is excellent as I can order a takeaway without a problem. I could offer some advice on your customer relationship skills but that would be in English. Maz appears to be trying to prevent incorrect information being advertised on your website and you're not being too helpful

Please post your advise I am sure it will be good for us all to learn from you, and I know that we have a few English people on the team that will be able to understand better then me.

I really cannot see why you appear to not want to assist Maz, I have checked her ad. and also checked her posts and comments from the past. She is obviously a church goer and strong in her belief of that church. She has told you, that you had solved who buggered her ad. All she is asking for is for your assistance in getting it corrected, as she cannot, because obviously the person who put the information on your Forum is the only person with the Login details



to change that advert. That person ,I gather ,had some sort of argument and left the Church TAKING WITH THEM THE LOGIN DETAILS, which tells me that Maz cannot alter the wording on the advert. I should think you could cancel the said login details and let Maz pick a new one or perhaps cancel the complete advert and let the Church do a new one. I cannot see where you are coming from, and really do not like where you seem to be going to.

To day we had an email from someone using a gmail account saying that they did not like the wording of an advert and that they wanted it changed and that we should give them the login details so they could make the changes they wanted to.
Can you please explain to us in your mind why we would then give the details out to just anyone that asked for them.
As another example why do you not email us asking for the login details to the Hogs Head bar advert because you are the boss and have lost them, do you think we would send them without checking who you are or should we just send out info to anyone that asks?

Or you could just change the advert yourselves and save everyone a lot of bother. There could be souls to be saved who are put off from visiting the church. God is forgiving, but there's a limit.....

Do you want any other adverts changed that you do not like? As for your God well that's up to you.

Perhaps add to Maz's advert that even followers of some weirdo spaghetti monster sect are welcome. Just out of curiosity, can you amend Maz's advert to add a full stop to demonstrate you have the ability to change adverts. Your attitude seems strange.

For the record, when I initially contacted ASL I simply gave them the facts and asked them to delete the ad so we could place a new one. At no time did I ever ask for the login details, nor would I expect to be given them. I am mystified by their attitude.

But the answer is the same, why would we delete or change an advert belonging to someone else because someone sends us an email asking us to do so.
Why not ask us to change other adverts belonging to local businesses, why on earth would we do this with out proof as to who you are and what connection you have to the advert.

I wrote my comment because although I do not know Maz, I knew the Church she was talking about. Before writing anything, I checked the services section and came across the Church details and it definitely said it was closed, I then clicked onto the advert, I also made a phone call and found out the Church was infact open, then I went onto Maz's info. page and browsed through the lists of comments she had made and a list of the threads she had started, then I checked some of the comments she had made to see if she was one of the trouble makers, that you get on here, you know the ones, anti charities except there own, anti Bar except the ones they are still allowed to drink in., anti anything that they don't personally agree with,. etc etc And Maz's comments were what I would call normal, mundane,comments,the kind of comments that don't wind anybody up. It was then that I decided to contact you. You are quite right in saying that what if someone e-mailed etc. should you just give them the details they want, and the answer is as you say, You shouldn't give details. But to do what I did, check a few things out go with a bit of gut feeling, I personally would of gone out of my way to help Maz, You chose not to, so be it, obviously I gather this advert had a cost to it, and if so a renewal date, unless you assist Maz, I shouldn't think the Church would be renewing. A few phone calls would be your only cost, and everybody would be happy

Thanks for your reply, I understand now what maz said and also what you said. I can see your point clearer now, but it is a shame that you didn't contact anybody by phone or e-mail to find out exactly what was going on. Regarding firstly your little aside about the Hogs Head, it is possible that you will hear from them, as I believe they have sold up and new people have taken over. Also I was aware that it was free to put something in the services, but a cost to receive the details of the inquirer from ASL, who knows I could be wrong again

You are correct we charge 3€ for a lead but most businesses do not bother and about 400 new customers each month go else where and local traders miss out.

I have asked ASL to respect the confidentiality of my email to them and they have refused to delete the above post, whist at the same time deleting my post saying that I am shocked and horrified at their ethics!!

Very sorry Maz we can not delete a post if it has comments added under it so all had to be deleted. As we were deleting all the posts Alan added one so we had to edit the one you did not like, hope that's ok with you?

But so that everyone knows Maz is pissed off that we posted her email to us even though she decided to make her request public.

I can no longer take part in this. I have at all times been respectful. I feel quite sorry that it has come to this sorry situation just because I made a post to say that in fact the church was not and never had been closed.
