Lights

Why are the street lights out all the time, doesnt help business in the evening when people cant even see to walk up the pavement in safety

Jescapes,
I quite agree with you.
We live in a Cul de Sac with verde on three sides, without lighting we have little or no security.
We wrote to Jeff on this matter when our lighting was cut off and got back a load of b******t.
I rang Mark Lewis who rang the Community lighting man and my local lighting was active within 24 hours!
Ring Mark and things happen!

Friendlyviking

I had the same problem. Went to the mini town hall was asked to fill out a form which I did.
Waited two, may be three weeks. I bumped in to the councillor guy who I didn't realt know at the time. It was Paulino.. I explained to him about the situation outside a bar. He took a look at the three lights. Got his blackberry out made a phone call. With in ten minutes a electrician turned up in his white van fixed all three lights then went.
If there is an problems on this Urb I call Paulino as I've used the town hall, and not much happened.
So any problems now have str8 on the phone to Paulino and he will give you a yes or no. No BS he will tell you straight. I know his had he's fair share of problems with the dump ect ect but to be honest I do trust him.

Andi,
Great to hear that we have a councilor somewhere on this Urb who clearly gets things done.
It seems that anyone who has been or is well connected at San Fulgencio Town Hall can get things done with only one exception, our recently appointed Rock Festival Organiser!

The street lights are switched off on a rotational basis, in order to save money.
When lights are not working due to a fault and a report is submitted to one of the council offices, the report is forwarded to the councillor for parks and gardens as well as the council electrician . On some occasions it is found that the lights are the responsibility of the Community and it is down to them to carry out the necessary repairs.

I will jump to the councils defence on this as, there was a certain light that was outside the back of a bar that had been out for years and kept getting destroyed by the kids. The previous council didn't repair it at all. This current council did repair it and its been working ever since. That was probably 15-16 months ago.

I heard that they will be putting red lights at the side-walks of the roundabouts!

We have a bulb that needs changing on a street light. It comes on for a minute, then goes out for a minute, its not that its switched on and off.
How can I get hold of this Paulino guy?
