Elections

Just an update for Alice and others. Photo is now attached. Enlarge it and put it in a frame above the fire. It will keep the kids away. And for Robert, I pledge that I will do all that I can to make La Marina a better place. If you wish to comment or make a suggestion...keep it clean please. For the first time ever three British councillors have been elected in the same municipality ie San Fulgencio and it would make history if these three were actually installed as governing councillors, giving residents of the urbanisations a voice in local government: Mark Lewis (APSFU), Brian Deacon (PSOE), and Jeff Wiszniewski (PIPN).

The PP party's 8 elected councillors are all Spanish in an area continually boasting its multi-national status. Commenting on his own website, Mark Lewis said “The Spanish voters won the day due to the unwillingness of the British people and other Europeans to go to the Polling Station. The requirements of the Spanish voters may now take priority over the wants and needs of the English and other nationalities living in the urbanisations.” All eyes will now be on 10th June to see the outcome.

Well looking at the way the last administration treated " The Spanish Voters" especially in Oasis, I am not surprised, in fact delighted at the outcome. Maybe we can now have a coalitition which will treat ALL residents fairly, and Oasis will finally have it's infrastucture replaced. As for not enough British and Europeans voting, the right to vote was taken away from us by the last administation, unless you were on the Padron, and you had to be a resident to be on the Padron. Maybe the new administration will reverse this unjust rule, Remembering most expats that have a property here are NON residents but enjoy the luxury of owning a holiday home, and paying their Taxes all year round to the Town Hall in San Fulgencio.
