With reference to web sites, I think you will find that most estate agents up here on the urbanisation, and in fact most areas, update their main sites on a regular basis. There are, of course, a few exceptions. In particular, obviously if some Estate Agents have closed down their business, these particular sites will still be up there. It is a fact that in the last 3 years that nearly 70% of estate agents on the Costas have closed up shop.

You seem to have taken a dislike to the video that ITV made of the area back in 2009. Yes it could do with an update but who would be able and skilled enough and have the finances to carry this out? A little background on this was that filming time on this was over 13 hours just for the short clip that we showed. Perhaps this is your area of expertise. If so an updated version would, I agree, be most welcome.

With reference to the Hillside Site. Why do you find it confusing? Are you not able to pan down the page to see the information? This site is regularly updated with information of forthcoming artistes. Plus there is another Hillside page that deals with Sunday nights Karaoke singers. This is a very popular page and we have had many many compliments over the years. You are the first person to moan about it, and in our opinion this is a very good, informative and well presented page.

As for the bars and restaurants on the urbanisation that are still operating, they are all working as hard as possible, even though most of the people living here these days do have a reduced spending capacity.

What is so wrong with the video apart from it being a few years old? It is actually people that like what they see in this video that do come over to live. We await Comments with much interest!!

Quite frankly Grant when we moved to the Urb in 2003 we did not even look on a website, we came over for two weeks and walked the urbanisation to familiarise ourselves with the area. Which is what any sensible person would do, surely. As for your comments about Hillside, I have it bookmarked as one of my favourites and find it a quick and easy reference to know what is going on , on a weekly basis. It is easy to sit on the sidelines and criticise. It seems to be a failure of a lot of people to always think they can do a job better than the people doing it!!!!

Well Grant sounds like you are an active Estate Agent, coming to our resque. Are you about to make new vido for us of La-Marina to change and give us a more upbeat look. When will you be starting?

Grant.. when we first started coming to la marina in 2009 it was to visit our friends we never looked at a web site .we now come over 3 times a year and love the place so much we are buying this year .web sites are fine but once you get here most people love it.my kids and grandkids come over to .so it cant be that bad

Just watched the youtube video - what an embarrassment! Moved her in 2003 not having searched for info on the web. If we had of seen something like this wouldn't have come! We make an effort to frequent Spanish places not sit in 'brit' bars or look for pies to eat!

The sooner LM returns to how it was in 2003 or before, the better. Too many brit bars & shops now.
Always make the effort to speak Spanish and you will reap rewards.

Roll on 2012 with LM becoming spanish at last! More brit places closing and becoming Spanish!

So Lollipop are you saying that as far as you are concerned the brits in business here can all go bankrupt and go back to ENGLAND. Why can't la Marina be multi-cultural, if you wanted to be in a completely Spanish enviroment you should have gone to live in the back of beyond. In England you have all different nationalities as in most countries. We are all human beings. If Joe Bloggs wants to go to his English Bar or shop at his English shop then who are you to tell him any different. Don't forget the Spanish need us to help their economy as much as we enjoy living out here in the sun. It is a two-way thing and should have give and take on all sides.

So people like myself who have businesses here can just go as far as your concerned, such a nice friendly community we have here!!
Many people here have invested so much, not just financially and this is the attitude your met with. I am pleased to say Lollipop that thankfully you stand pretty much alone with your views, so maybe its you that should go elsewhere.

I most certainly agree with both Eve and Nikki. I have lived here for many years now and one of the main reasons that I moved here was because there was a good percentage of British people that lived on this urbanisation with plenty of English bars/restaurants. I have to say that I like to have the odd pie and chips and am not personally too keen on a lot of Spanish food (but that is my preference).
I have watched this video many many times and it is a very true picture of how life is out here for us Brits - and I love it. SO, Lollipop if you do not - just go back to where you came from. This is and always will be a place for tourists as well as us residents. NIKKI - Most people I have found are friendly, it's just the odd one like Lollipop that we can all do without. I work in an English shop, I don't get paid as I am in charge of the S.A.T. shop in La marina, but we depend on the brits for the largest percentage of our support and without them we would not survive. It takes a lot of guts to up sticks and come and live in Spain, especially if you need to earn a living, obviously lolli[pop does not But he or she should remember that they may need their British neighbours one day if they are in trouble and need a helping hand, or perhaps they think they are invincable?

Dont quite understand exactly what you are on about Lollipop,You came to La Marina in 2003,but if you had seen a tv programme that was shown in 2009 you wouldnt of come(If I could see 6years into the future I would also do things differently).But there again you did come and I presume stayed you found your little niche in life,If you came to La Marina to preftend to be Spanish you obviously knew nothing about La Marina.If i wanted to be Spanish,I would learn to shout when using mobile phone,or when chatting to someone a few inches away from me,Also learn how how not to queue,learn how not to say thankyou when someone opens a door for you to go through,learn how to park a car wherever i wanted to regardless of how dangerous it is to other people,Drive like I had to be everywhere yesterday,and many other things that i dislike,but all this is my personal opinion,but come the day when when the cons of being in La Marina outway the pros I will go,Which looking at your opinions of anything U.K.is what you should of done years ago

I have to say,that I noticed Grants reply has suddenly vanished,I started to read it last night,but didnt finish it,went back on Forum and couldnt find it,I hope for some reason it wasnt taken off the forum,if so perhaps he is at least entitled to know why
Personally the bit I did read didnt seem offensive to me,and I have read a lot worse but I would of liked to of read his opinion,even if i didnt agree with it,surely unless it is personal or offensive a person is entitled to reply and if I read things correctly on this thread,Ian did ask him questions,earlier in the thread

Grant a lot of people promote bars and shops on here on the time line/wall. So I guess when you made a bee-line for the hillside and other places Carol or Ian decided to remove it. The last thing we need is people slating other bars and restaurants purely because of the Internet website. Maybe people do not have the money to update there sites. I'm not saying your comment was right or wrong but we just don't need someone constantly trash talking bars restaurants and business . If anyone is planning on getting the iPhone 4s then get it it's amazing.

Alan I got through the whole post Grant put up. As far as I can tell there nothing offensive in it at all. As you say you have seen much worse(on my behalf). So as far as I know the post was removed.
