RUBBISH COLLECTION...

Dont tell me you are surprised Andi,But I gather the bins in Alicante are empty(for those who dont understand that comment)I believe our Mayor lives in Alicante

Yep the bins are full and the Pharmacia is on strike......not looking like a good week for some people.

Well if you read the papers the farmacia problem is central government and the bins are due to debt left by last local government so how do you blame the present Mayor or is it he is in charge so it as to be his fault

David i was going to say do you read the papers. You must read them to know that the last goverment never paid them for 25 months maybe that was why the old animal counillor had a 20,000 euro animal welfare budgetat one time, as for what was spent on social services who knows.
kind of went off point there, the mayor stated "i gaurentee the rubbish will be collected. he stated that in a couple of local papers. Most of the councillors know me at the office i have not got a bad word to say towards this goverment as you cant do much in 5 months. one thing i do know is you DO-NOT make a statement like that in local papers and not follow through. If i was a councillor i would of questioned why he has said this.
Anyways... Bins are over flowing by grey area and by bank valencia...Thanks for nothing..(If there emptied tonight, well well... Theres a dust cart picking the rubbish up)... Well done Mr mayor.. alls forgiven.

You are correct,in what you say about who created the debt to Ginssa.
But surely running a council meansyou take over the debts and assetts of the previous one.and then adjust your spending as such.
With the pharmacia,It is regional Government(Valencia)who apparnetly reneged on a recent promise to repay a small part of what they owed to the pharmacias.
But with the local council,The Mayor is adament that the debt is not his responsibility, sorry sorry mate you do not wipe the slate clean by changing the managers,,You negotiaate with the people you owe money to and try to sort out a repayment scheme,it is surely part and parcel of the job.I believe the Mayor previously had a job with a large famous Spanish Store,I would like to think that if that store owed millions of euros to a supplier for goods supplied to that store,that he would realise that sacking the directors and bringing in new ones does not absolve the new ones of the debt.It is owed by the company not by the directors,Any monies paid to Ginssa in the last 5 months is off the capital owed to them,unless they have agreed to restructure the debt differently.The main point other than that is the Mayor was loud enough to blame the previous council,he should of at least not blatently lie that he had the collection for the future under control,I even asked Jeff to ask him how he would do it and let us know the answer,surprise nothing came back.
Sorry to all the non politicals on his forum,for the lengh of this comment but we have this council for the next three and a half years and if they can come out with such rubbish(pun not intended)when even a simple `we will do whatever we can to sort it out`would of been more believable

Well i guess what i saw last night driving down the road was a invisable dust-cart.
The bins are over flowing even worse. David regarding your comment "how do you blame the present mayor or is it he is in charge so it as to be his fault"... Its not his falut but, his in charge now so it all falls on him and what a tonto man he is for making that statement. It makes everyone who works under him look even worse than he does now becuase its going to be them who get this stick from us public.

what happened to the promise that the bins will be emptied ? ,count how many day's with no collection deduct from next years council tax bill.bin now emptied in calle dublin
