Rental property for May wanted
Hi all
We are still looking for a nice place for our friends to rent for the whole of May 2016 at a reasonable price.
We already live here and our friends (early retirees) want to visit and experience life on the urb.
Somewhere close to Consul would be ideal.

AAN Charity Shop

Round-abouts.
Driving around locally, we have some lovely round-abouts that have been well planted with trees, shrubs and flowers, and probably the most spectacular, is the one at Guardamar with the huge fountains.
Heading towards Benijofar, we have some more well laid out r/bouts and in particular, the one just before San Fulgencio, (no surprise there then)
At the other end of the Urb (Mercadona, Merca China) we have a beautiful one outside Llidl but just 50 metres away as you enter the N332, we have the poorest excuse i've ever seen. It's litter strewn and weed filled with not a tree or shrub insight.
Who is in control of this mess ? is it San Fulgencio, Elche, Guardamar or the Highways Dept ?
Surely it wouldn't cost much to beautify this gateway to OUR Urbanisation.

Pellet stoves/fires
Weve decided to go for a pellet stove as against a log burner. A few reasons decided it for us so now we need to decide on which one and from who.
If any members have bought one can you give us your verdict.
As I understand it most outlets such as Brico Dpt and Leroy Merlin sell moedels made in China and are not very good quality.
This is what we have at the moment.
Apparently the better ones are made in Italy, Germany and Spain, is that about right ?
Some models are not as efficient as others and are noisy when operating, possibly applies to the cheaper ones from China.
We have looked at models in specialist outlets in Los Montesinos, Quesada and Elche and have found the price to be nearly double that of the Brico Dept etc. Are they worth the extra money ?
I would be grateful for any imput on this to help us make a decision.

my personal opinion is that your making a mistate going for pellet burners instead of log burner,but i wont go into that anymore.in either case swedish or scandinavian burners are the best,more expensive but well worth it in long run.only my opinion of course.
We bought our pellet fire a couple of years ago from Leroy Merlin and they installed it for us. Best money we ever spent. Pellet fires are a lot better than log fires because you can regulate the heat, and there is little mess and virtually no smoke. Very eco friendly. Our fire is Italian and is very well built. Depending on the size of your house, you can get different size fires.We leave our bedroom doors open and the heat goes all through. The pellets vary in price, but they all come in 15kg bags. Average price is about 4€ per bag, but can go up to 6-7€ per bag. The fires can also be put on a timer so you can have the fire burning whenever you set the time.
Some companies are charging 3000€ plus for fires, which I found far too expensive. There are cheaper ones, but just do your homework. The size of fire depends on the size of your house. Don't be pushed into buying what you don't need. Work out the square meterage of the room you want to heat and buy accordingly.

We have a Mika Freepoint. The only noise is from the fan, but that can be turned down. It does not bother us at all.
I bought a pellet stove a month or two ago and its brilliant.Far cleaner,more eco friendly and warm without the mess.I actually clean mine after every use,which literally takes two minutes.I have to say however,on reflection I should have weighed up my options a little better.There is quite a bit of fan noise when on full but it can be controlled.I should have gone for a more expensive one with tighter controls,BUT,when the flames get roaring and the room is warm I don't regret it,well worth the slight fan noise when dropped down.

URGENT LOST DOG IN LA MARINA FROM CALLE PARIS last night , LITTLE LIGHT BROWN/WHITE DOG.
She escaped out of the garden from a neighbours,after 8pm 31ST, she is very
nervous. She is so tiny, possibly on heat, please help.
We have looked alot of places, but nothing.
She has white paws, and has a brown leather collar on that is too big for her. No chip.

Seen at Parque Manzanares at 8pm 4th , had a call when this guy was looking at her,
in 5 minutes we were there, but could not find her, we called for 2 hrs.
Talking to people there, she has been seen there for 2 days.
Please keep your eyes peeled,we will go there tomorrow and wait.

Just seen a posting on La Marina Gossip in Facebook of a little dog seen around Maya's Bar/Woodstock just now.
Probably not your little dog as the post says:
"Just found this little dog a boy with a blue collar running around the grey area calle madrid near the woodstock bar unfortunately couldnt get hold of him please share to find his owners"
I don't know how to the photo of the dog on here but I will try.

No never, everyone is of the same opinion, that someone must have her, we will keep trying to find her :(
Still missing, :( we think someone must have her, only two absolute confirmed sightings on Jan 1st, then nothing. :( We are still looking and at everyone with small dogs.
On the La Marina Gossip Facebook page on Monday, 8 February, a post said:
"If anyone is missing a dog I have just seen a little fawn coloured dog with a collar on running at high speed up towards Calle Amsterdam by watsons estate agent ..I called it and it stopped and looked at me but wouldn't come as I had my own dog with me then carried on running. I was worried as it was running up to the main road area ..."

A further reply from the original lady posting said:
"the dog looked terrier size had what looked like a brown collar on and was more a tan colour than white ..There was some people getting into a car near where it stopped when I called it but unfortunately they didn't attempt to catch it so it just kept running at high speed ..I hope no harm comes to it ..."

Can anybody tell me where to buy engine oil in 5ltr bottles,Is there any motor parts supply shops nearby,like the type we have back in UK ?.
Local businesses should be approached to sponsor the maintainance of these local Roundabouts / Entrances. Estate Agents, Mercadona, Garages etc who are advertising on Billboards which are becoming enormous eyesores all over the place. Mind you, the authorities or council will probably try to make money out of any gesture to improve the place.
