ATTEMPTED Mugging

Hello Mazza, sorry to hear about the mugging but this sounds like the same pair that mugged my sister last year. They stopped her in La Marina and asked directions, they were in a white car and 'looked' Spanish however could have been Morrocan. They grabbed her handbag and tried to speed off, my sister held onto the bag but was dragged by the car so eventually let go with a few scrapes and bruises. These lads have been around for a while now and will try anything, they are callous and wont care if they hurt anyone, young or old. This happened near Poppys in daylight and they had been watching her for a while because she was sat outside one of the bars with my Dad. Please be careful with bags, wallets and cars. Like anywhere in the world there is always the opportunist and scumbags. Hope you have recovered?

OMG! I can't believe these stories...I know it can happen anywhere but its not very nice to hear when I am moving over in 5 weeks!

On our way out last night - this would be about 7.30 pm we were driving to pick up some friends who are on holiday and I was just pulling out across the Junction of Calle Helsinki & Calle Dublin when there were 2 men in the middle of the road flagging us down. One was an older man - quite big and a younger lad - looked Spanish. After reading Mazza's posting I most certainly was not going to stop so I put my foot down and drove round him. He glared after us shouting some type of abuse. Of course, he may have been wanting directions BUT I was not going to take that chance !! (we couldn't see any white car though).

apparently, these two got a neighbour last week and they got his wallet. Noel said before the lad saw his wallet in his pocket he'd been feeling his back pocket. My tart of a husband didn't complain about being touched up but when the lad went for his wallet he reacted. I moan like mad when Noel puts his wallet in his shirt pocket as it makes his shirt hang badly. Thank God he did yesterday. The wallet only had 5 euros in it but also credit cards, medical cards etc. We've been ripped off once before when we went out with the dog and left all the doors and windows open, and I suspect we were standing on the corner near our house talking to pals. That time they got all the cards and Euros, also the English money we keep for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations etc for a large family plus a very good watch. This time we got off easily but I was surprised how quickly I reacted. I got in a good slap to the boys head. If anyone is having Noel's wallet it's me and I have to arm wrestle him to the ground force him into rampant sex then grab it while he's out of it. A girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do xx

Karen, don't let this put you off. It's a fabulous place to live. We just have to be vigilant. The warm weather makes us very relaxed. A neighbour said she only opens her car window when asked for help. These things probably happen far more in UK but we get very relaxed here. Come and enjoy xx

WELL DONE MAZZA FOR SLAPPING HIM AROUND THE HEAD. YEARS AGO THESE TWO APPROACHED ME AND MY HUSBAND DOWN ON EXTRAMADURA THEY WANTED US TO GO UP TO THE CAR BUT I SHOUTED AT MY HUSBAND NOT TO. FORTUNATELY OUR DOG WAS OFF THE LEAD AND IT WAS A CHAIN ONE. I GOT IT IN MY HAND AND I STARTED SWINGING IT AROUND MY HEAD. THEY DROVE OFF LAUGHING. AS FOR THE RAMPANT SEX BIT, I WAS GOBSMACKED, WHEN I MET YOU THE OTHER WEEK, YOU DID NOT LOOK THAT TYPE OF WOMAN TO ME. GOOD JOB YOU DID NOT BUY ANYTHING OUT OF THE SHOP. WE MAY HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO A DEMO.

Regarding the aforementioned, I noted that there was no mention of the Police being called. If they were, can you let me know what action was taken. If anyone is the victim of this type of crime and If you do not want to register a formal complaint with the Police, whether or not the culprits have been sucessful, can you let this office know. We are eager to build up intelligence on these criminal types. With descriptions of suspects and vehicles used, we may be able to gather sufficient information to trace and apprehend these criminals that plague our society.

Hi Jeff. Sorry to say we didn't go to the police as we thought we had nothing to report. We were so shocked that we didn't even take a licence number. I can't believe we just stood there watching them drive away, happy that we weren't hurt. The boy wasn't violent, just a con merchant but I think they're a practiced pair. They came the wrong way up a one way street, so we couldn't chase them. The boy was holding a small map which he got Noel to hold so both of Noels hands were holding the map. However he made a big mistake, the lovely Mr Smith doesn't allow anybody near his wallet and I think the boy was a bit shocked when I jumped in and smacked him. I can laugh now but had it been my pal whose on her own it could have really distressed her xx

Hi Jeff, when my sister was mugged we were told to go to Guadamar Police station, so we did and even took an interpreter with us. The were as helpful as a chocolate fire guard.
In other words they weren't interested.
