Has anyone heard about saving plastic bottle tops for a little girl in Elche who has cancer. I would imagine they are melted back down and will raise money for this cause. Have you heard anything about this Jeff. Would it be possible to perhaps have a collection point at your office if this is a bona fida appeal.
Hi Eve, I'm also saving them. I take mine to my niece in Catral and she passes them on to a friend of hers. I'm trying to get a laminated card with all the details to go near our bins.
Yes ,we also save them and pass them onto a friend,Although my gut feeling is that it is a scam,Have checked Hoax Slayer,although many hoaxes of this type on there,this one is not specifically named.But until we hear officially that it is a scam we will keep on saving them.
If it isnt a scam I hope the target is reached very quickly.
This must be a scam. Or possibly a silly idea started by some one with too much time on their hands.
Why bottle tops and not the whole bottles?
Nobody from the Town Hall has come back with an answer to my question about these bottle tops. If it is a bona fida collection, then surely, as a community we should help. If not then people need to know.
Why only melt the plastic tops, why not all of the plastic bottles?
Hello Eve. We at Malika's bar in the village are collecting the tops as a little Spanish girl who lives in the apartments above, has requested this, as she has the other bars and restaurants in the village. We are only happy to help in any way.
I guess to answer peters theory, tops are easier to handle.
I guess if all bars and restaurants could save their bottle tops and ask their customers also as we are doing, I for one would be happy to go round and collect and pass them on to this little Spanish girl.

Hi Eve, That very considerate of you. I think all bottle tops are welcome even the plastic tops off milk cartons etc and even off the beer barrels. Theres a free drink and tapas waiting for you.
Might as well bring your friends down and let all sample what we have to offer.

Just back from a short break. I am looking into this. So far though I have been told it is bona fide. As the tops are of a different type of plastic I am told that they are better for recycling?
