Ive thought long and hard about making this comment but feel I must. There was in the last week some unfounded irresponsible reporting about the noise from some bars in the Consum area. The first fact they got wrong is there are two bars with 4am licences in the area (one of them has been closed and empty for months). The other is rarely open till 4am. The fact one person they wrote has to " sleep in the car in their underbuild to avoid the noise and their floor vibrates. What a ridiculous statement to make, we have a bar directly above the one open with a late licence and our floor doesn't vibrate and we cant hear the noise. Have the coast rider taken sound readings at 4am in the morning? I think not. The consum area provides entertainment and valued social life to many local people and visitors, Most bar owners cant sit back and rely on incomes from elsewhere, nor can the mostly (not in my case) Young hard working people who earn their living there, do lots for local charity etc. So before Coast rider prints stupid damaging reports I suggest you sleep on it and get your facts straight. As for the people who come out with ridiculous accusations and statements. PLEASE MOVE. (Rant over)

Has anyone contacted the Coast Rider to ask them to investigate correctly and print a retraction? They rely on advertisers bars etc to keep them going. So maybe they will listen if a bar owner contacts them.

I gather that the Coastrider, does not see much advertising space from the bars in the Consume Area, Hence the reason the area is classed as easy meat to the local rags.
I would lay odds that if the bars in the consume area all ask for advertising space in the coastrider, and then added, 'As long as you withdraw the obnoxious lies you printed about the area recently, They would guarantee printing the truth as you want to tell it.
These type of freebees only know one thing and that is profit, the truth comes a poor second.

Another stupid statement. from the above, NO ONE sleeps in the car in their underbuild and if coast rider want to print ridiculous statements at least interview both sides and get the truth. Do you really want to live in an area with no entertainment, no bars, no restaurants??? Profit, yes we need to make profit, it pays the bills, pays the wages etc. Are you really that stupid and selfish. leave the hard working bar owners alone or bugger off into the countryside. The whole thing makes me so mad. There is some noise in the summer. But no one sleeps in their car in the underbuild. Most bars at the moment are closed by 11pm, Let people enjoy their time here, I go in the Monday club some times and simply see people having a great time. Its not loud late in the early hours.

Glad you noticed flagkilo, had put another stupid comment on this forum, and then when it is remarked about, how silly the comment was, He did his usual and deleted his comment, Glad you noticed this as well, at least readers wont think that somehow I made the silly comment.
Perhaps ASL should look into his antics, and give an appropriate warning
