Cagneys

Today was the 4th anniversary of Rick and Kate moving into Cagneys. They've turned it round over the years into a great bar. The food is great and the prices are right.
Today was a celebration and the music was on from 2 'til 6. Rick was singing, with tributes to Buddy Holly, Everlys etc and then after that, he did a couple of duets with Kate.
Every one's having a good time, no problems, music not too loud, then Done and Dusted start their set........then the police turn up and stop the music.
According to reports, a Spanish woman called the cops because she was trying to sleep !! ok, I know they like a siesta, but one woman has spoilt the fun of about 100 people.
It's about time the people in charge, realised that they shouldn't stop people from enjoying themselves because they'll find somewhere else to holiday or live and will not go out and spend their money, and more bars will close and eventually, we'll end up with more of a ghost town.

I thought this moaning and reporting bars to the police had all been sorted and the bars were allowed to have music on for certain times, with all the correct paper work and rules agreed how could the police have the music stopped ?.

I thought it was all sorted too, but the Police have to act if someone complains.
Cagneys are quite good where the music is concerned. They usually play in the afternoons or early evening as to not upset the neighbours too late on, but this wasn't the case here.
I know I wouldn't buy a house near a bar for obvious reasons.

Sadly, the days when La Marina was a great, fun place to live has long gone. When Trini was mayoress the downward decline started with local police turning up and stopping music all the time. Since then it has gone from bad to worse. I personally cannot ever see a reversal back to anything resembling the good old days. We don't want drunks shouting and singing at all hours of the day and night, just a bit of music to enjoy at reasonable times. I was under the impression that this was allowed until midnight. Obviously I was wrong. Ricky and Kate never have it on anywhere near as late as that so what chance have you got - none. Time to move???

I don't suppose it ever occurs to the local council that the reason they are not receiving as much tax from local businesses is because of their own actions.

Right on Nikki, the council/police should realise that people like a bit of entertainment in their lives, as long as it's reasonable and not too loud and at a decent time, we should be allowed to have a bit of fun sometimes. 5 o-clock in the afternoon seems fairly considerate to me and the action of one miserable b*****d has spoilt the fun of 100 people, and considerable loss of earnings to Rick and Kate, who still had to pay the band and also lost out on bar takings.
There should be a rule whereas the police need say, 10 complaints, before they take action.
