SHOPLIFTING

A person was reported to the Volunteers in a Local Charity Shop yesterday, having stolen, what could have only been, a cheap xmas decoration. This same person had been in the Bank the day before, checking their investments. With all the poverty in the area, and people struggling to feed their families, can anyone stoop any lower. I hope this person feels very proud of themselves. This is not the first time the said person has done something in the same charity shop. They brought back a pair of slippers with a one euro sticker on them and asked for a refund, the volunteer gave it back, but, the slippers were never purchased in that shop in the first place. Perhaps this person gets a kick out of doing this. This person will be closely watched in future or banned from the shop.

some people are despicable. I saw customers changing the price stickers over and even removing them in the hope of getting things cheaper. I dealt with this by asking them more than was on the original sticker, they could not say no it was only so much could they.
Disgusting when kind people are giving up their time to help the less fortunate and the animals in need.

One of my art students suffered a distraction robbery in Lidl, last week. A man asked her if she knew about the wine, got her to read a label and lifted her purse out of her bag which was in the trolley. He got away with 300 euros. So do beware everywhere right now - it happens when you least expect it.

Senora Alto, we get a lot of that in the SAT shop and like you I tell them it is more than the original price. Two women, whose nationality I will not disclose, for obvious reasons, make it their almost daily job of coming into the shop and doing that. Then one of the others of their gang will come in to buy it at the new price, but, I am adamant and will not let them have it. They are the biggest time wasters we get in as you spend all your time trying to watch them and following them outside to see they do not take anything. This time could be spent putting out new stock, I do not mind spending my time helping genuine customers, but, they are a pain in the butt.

I totally agree with everything you say Eve.
The Moroccans you barter are a nuisance also, mind I do believe it is just their culture to barter, it is not in any way an aspertion on the good job us volumteers do.
I also thorough enjoy working in a charithy shop and the feel good factor after a good shift is all the recompence needed.
