SAN FULGENCIO MAYOR CARLOS RAMIREZ FACES LEGAL PROCEEDINGS

The APSFU and PSOE opposition parties in San Fulgencio have denounced the leader of the governing coalition, Mayor Carlos Ramirez (PP), for being dishonest and obstructive from the very start of his term as Mayor of the municipality.

He has frequently stated that his administration is transparency and honest, but in reality he has prevented copies of official documents and accounts for fiesta contracts and expenses being revealed to opposition Councillors. The anti corruption prosecutor was informed last year of illegal practices in the documentation and organizing of the summer fiesta in La Marina urbanization, this report has recently been forwarded to Court No.1 in Orihuela which is pending a ruling. Mayor Ramirez is accused of fraudulent activities by hiring a company without allowing public tender, the company's services were appointed before the signing of any contracts.

His response to the indictment is that this was due to the pressure he was under at the time.

Last week another official denuncia was submitted to the Town Hall Secretary because of Mayor Ramirez's systematic and repeated refusal to provide copies of documents requested by opposition Councillors, his deficiency in official reporting has resulted in the latest judicial procedures.
