La Marina Poblems

It seems to me the Valencian Government are not thinking very clearly in their approach to improving tourism in Spain. People will not come to La marina or anywhere else if they cannot enjoy an evening without the police turning up. The police are only doing their job. Surely with a little bit of thought and compromise the problems could be sorted to the advantage of both the government and local bars. Why spend thousands of euros on Rock Concerts, which did no one local any good, to bring in tourists. The bars are already here providing music, the vast majority of holiday makers come here to enjoy an evening of entertainment and a nice meal. Surely music could be limited to week-ends and a time limit of say 12.30. Spain are in a recession so why don't they all pull together and do something about it. It is not going to happen with all this bickering going on. Why don't all you bar owners get together and try and do something about it. It is YOUR BUSINESS and YOU ARE PAYING your dues.

La Marina

As me and my partner come on holiday normally for 7 - 10 days 3 to 4 times a year I wouldn’t really enjoy my time if music and entertainment was limited to weekends and to 1230. It’s a struggle to find something to do in the week anyway and I don’t want to be in bed by 1pm. What are we to do during the week stay inside? We normally have a nice meal then about 10pm we are ready for a party. As for the fiestas they attract tourist because we always come over for the fiestas and know a number of people who come from the UK and I bet it also attracts people living off the urb.

I wonder how many people will bother to come back here to La Marina after they have been here in the future and found to there disgust that a drink and a meal with entertainment is only allowed if you sit inside a venue. A lot of people just do not like Air Conditioned rooms. Sitting out in the evening under the stars and having possible a dance was at one time part of things here in Spain. But not here on La Marina.

I understand what your saying mikeyboy but La Marina is an urbanisation where people live and not party town Benidorm.
It would be like myself coming to England for a holiday and stay next door to you and have a party every night. Same rules apply

just hope the bars can get a compromise for late openings over the weekends.

La Marina may well be an urbanisation where people live but it is also an urbanisation where lots of people have holiday homes. We too pay our taxes, and I for one feel that if I come over to my home, if I want to go out and have a good time I should be able to without some old misery guts telling me otherwise. If you go down to La Marina Village they have live music every weekent out side. People live there all the time thats not a holiday resort, they are just NORMAL people enjoying a NORMAL lifestyle, which some people seem bent on stopping us NORMAL people on |La Marina

Hear Hear Greg, I totally agree, whether your a holiday home or a resident it is irrelevant.
Life is to enjoy not sit and complain about the noise if you don't like it move. This Urb is gonna be a ghost town the way things are going, and hey dont blame the police or the council blame the moaning minnies who have nothing else to do but complain leaving the police and the council with no choice but to act.
Sorry if I have offended but I have 2 houses on the Urb I live in one and would like to sell the other but with all the negative press on these forums it's not easy. Bye the way none of them have trouble with the bars or noise. It would be better if somebody could go round and shut up all the barking dogs through the night and get the owners to clean up the place at the back of them.
Rant Over

I have noticed the our Town Hall have started putting a few "No Dog Cr*pp"ng" signs up around the urb.

Some dog owners do pick up behind their pets, however I also think a few have had the same plastic bag attached to their dog lead for ages, I guess it's a case of it looks the part.

Did that on a park near where I live, and I was surprised that the dogs could read Spanish,as most dogs stayed off the grass. But as usual the mindless idiots came along and pulled up the signs
The dogs took it the rule had been rescinded, and started running etc. on the grass again
