Jeff has added to his blog today.
The main part was to warn residents that a band of thieves are frequenting the area,driving a hired car with they used a stolen license and credit card to hire.They are chancers,so be on the look out and report to the police any suspicious parked cars,Keep your gates locked at all times and secure your property even if leaving it for a few moments.
In this latest blog,he also explains why 2OOOO Euros is being spent on the Rock Festival.

For my thoughts,I find a baseball bat close at hand,a pretty good way of dealing with thieving little B*****ds.
and Jeff I dont mind how much you and the council spend on trying to make La Marina a tourist place,in fact the more the better

You are so right about the part i missed out,
Regarding the attack on a young Mother,
I actually thought how much safer La Marina was,as I often see Females walking alone at night,Until I read about this incident

Yup wen it comes down to these kind of things happening on the Urb, burglaries, attacks on young woman, let alone anyone else, you then realise all these minor petty things everyone argus about ain't important.

Great news - La Marina Has had its first official 100 degree day today. ( an I was out running in it :( )

Regarding your comment Alan about the tourism rock concert. It's €18.000 euros, it's a huge waste in this day and age. Are they going to have 10.000 people turn up, NO so in that respect they will never gain that money back. I'm sure that money can be diverted for important things like upping the security on the Urb as reading Jeffs blog it seems that that's what's needed now.

I agree about the €18.000 euros, it just does not seem correct, when the Urb really could do with some money spending on it.

Regards the young Mum attack, maybe the Police need to be on permanent patrol around all the bar area’s until chucking out time, basically they need to be seen, I know it costs money to Police the area, but we don’t want people attacks taking place.

I was not saying that the Rock Concert was a good way to spend 18000euros,I was only putting on this forum what Jeff had said on his blog.The main point was that the money had to be spent on tourism,and was not a direct payment from our Suma payments.
I believe the Council have to go to the Alicante Diputant,or the Valencian Regonal Government or to Madrid,to make a case for them giving San Fulgencio extra payments,I personally have no objection to how they make a case or the reason for it,but if they cant convince these people, we dont get anything,So in that respect the more they get to spend on tourism the more we residents benefit.
Of course I could think of lots of things I would like to see money spent on

Jeff blog said the guys had been identified, so why not put a few wanted photos on lamp posts ?

Again you use selective wording,Jeffs Blog stated "he has since been identified"
He is in the singular,so how do you read that as "the Guys" which is plural.
I would of thought this situation is serious enough ,that even you shouldnot change actual words of what was said or written

Am I really a smart arse,you asked for posters of these two men placed on lamp posts.
I do not know if the white guy had done any thing illegal,on reading the blog ,he had walked away before the attack took place,
He may be guilty of knowingly frightening a lone female,but it was the attack that was serious enough to warrant a mention on the blog

Sorry, one or two guys or whatever, the point I was making is why we don't put up photos of these criminals, we may never find them, but it I thought it may act as a deterrent.

Last thing on this.The White guy,may be entirely innocent of a sexual attack,as far as Jeff stated when the Woman said she was a Mother of two children,He left.At that point he hadnt committed an offence,
If that was the case and his picture was plastered everywhere as a potential sexual attacker he himself would be in danger of attack by anyone with a vigilante instinct,His crime would be that he didnt commit one.
By all means lets have posters of the guy who allegedly did sexually assault the Young Lady and I will be amonst the first to offer my help to put the posters up.
