If mark is selling up I would think he has not made the decision lightly as I thought he was in it for the long term and yes the food ,service etc is 2nd to none

I have just spoken to Mark and got it straight from the horses mouth, he is NOT selling up and has no intention of doing so. El Matador is open for business and all concerned are waiting with open arms to welcome you. I think we should give them as much support as possible. I for one have never had a bad meal there,and all concerned with running this restaurant are charming and have a good sense of humour.

Do you see how all these rumours start and there just a bunch of lies. Robert I'm glad you spoke to the actual guy who owns the property instead of everyone persuming it was for sale it's just like the charity shop saga people should go talk to them who run it not presume stuff and ruin reputations.

Andi - As I started this topic I suppose you're referring to me. If you read my posting you will see that I said that I had just been told this and asked if anybody else had heard about this? SO this was open for discussion which a lot of you have posted. If you look down the comments it was Sue who confirmed this. Anyway this is what this forum is for - to advise, help and discuss various subjects.

Unfortunately people come to point in their lives where they have nothing better to do than spread rumours. Call it boredom, wanting to see the fall-out, whatever. Unfortunately this kind of thing contributed to the failure of our restaurant in La Campeneta, Orihuela.

Sad I know and these people really do need to get a life!!

It Takes Two - Please read my comment above - I'm certainly not going to type if again. I was not spreading rumours - I just mentioned what I had been told and opened it up for discussion on this forum.

Not all people are bored with their lives and start rumours. In fact myself and most of my friends either work or do voluntary work for the Charity organisations and also have quite a full social life.

So, it is not really very nice to put all people in to one category. We certainly do not wan't any of the restaurants to close down on the urbanisation. We are extremely pleased that El Matador is not closing down.

Perhaps EL MATADOR - you would like to post your Restaurant up here on the forum ie your Menu, prices etc and any Artists that are appearing would be good.

Hi Carol, it wasn´t meant as a dig at you. More of a general comment towards part of te ex-pat population.

You do a great job and if it wasn´t for people and charities like you what hope would the animals and other charities have?

Robert what you actually said to Mark is i hear El Matador has been sold and he replied no it hasnt yet and that he hadnt got around yet to putting it up with an agent yet. So as for it being a rumour and me making it up I am not >LISTEN to what people tell you and dont make me out to be a liar and spreading rumours.Matador is still open for business and will do so until Mark sells FACT NOT RUMOURS.
