So if the Councillor for the urb get 2400 euros per month paid as an attendance allowance to attend 4 meetings a month so he doesn't pay tax on his UK pension, his first deputy gets the same amount and the other 3 staff get on average 1500 euros each to study for exams, stack boxes for charity and answer questions that could be answered in the main town hall Please tell me if this amount is justified, that equates to, including the extra month bonus all staff get yearly and the costs of running the office = over 120,000 euros per year to keep as one member of the office says to keep a puppet happy. It beggars belief that the council state they have no money for essential services, and it needs volunteers to raise money to feed starving people of all nationalities, so that politicians can take the credit.
The work done by these volunteers is unpaid, and all credit to them very hard work, so rather than complain that they could be on the take, which we know they are not, question whether you are getting value for money from your Suma bills

Hard to believe .but are you Richie Sparks, or has someone been able to use your name on this Forum.
I have noticed your last few comments on this site ,have been,anti jeff his staff.and the office he uses.
Nothing wrong with your comment ,it is roughly in line with my thinking. It is just that you must of known quite a time ago what goes on in the local Council Office,but you said nothing until now,Cant help thinking, that this moan is more personal than it should be.

I have known for a long time what goes on but kept my opinions to myself for my own reasons , which are no longer valid, my opinions on the way the council runs has not changed , but if you think this is personal that is your right, I have felt for some time that the urb has been short changed, however was overridden, I have made my feelings plain and simple, I believe that starving people should not be happening in this day and age in our society having seen first hand the effects of starvation in children in the gulf in 1990. I too followed the party line and didn't make waves but no longer feel it necessary to keep quiet. I take my hat off to those people who give up time and energy to try to combat this sorry state of affairs and when they are attacked publicly feel that something should be said

Thanks for your answer Richie.As I stated in my previous comment,your thinking was roughly how I see things,and I have always sided with people who give up time and energy to help others, it is in fact these people who work tirelessly for those less fortunate than ourselves, that make La Marina.such a great place to live most of the time.
I think you realize, why I queried your motives, as will many other people who read this forum,
Hopefully this will start a proper debate on this Forum, rather than the same few people making the same futile arguments for and against.

Alan I'm sure you are aware that sometimes you publicly support some people regardless of your true personal feelings, however I have said nothing publicly that I am not prepared to back up, with hard evidence of my true feelings on the subject. I have seen many things first hand that I have felt would be inappropriate to comment on in the past, but having been in communication with Pauline, I feel that what they do is first class and I see trolls attacking them on this forum as if they are pawns of the council, something I know not to be true. I have known them for a long time and they are the most selfless people, always working for the benefit of others. Charities in Spain take a knocking regularly because some people cannot get it into their heads that there are such selfless people around like Pauline and Peter. Just let them get on with what they do best and help others. If we all did that the Urb would be a far better place to live. so rather than snipe at people who do good, ask them what you can do to help, this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, just the bar fly critics

You have been on the Urb long enough and managed to keep your opinions to yourself don't come on here to wash your dirty laundry in public.
The one thing we are all agreed on is Pauline and others do great work for charity.

If Richie has information that is accurate and factual there is no reason why we should not know what goes on behind closed doors. We are paying a high price for the 'service' and have a right to know the facts. Providing of course they are 'facts' and not just dirty washing being aired - as quoted by others.

Most People Know me well and also know that if i say something i have proof to back it up, if you want to have personal attacks at me go ahead, i have broad shoulders. I have kept myself to myself most of the time, mainly because people use this forum to attack people with good intentions, you are due an election next year and you should be able to make informed choices, if you think i have an alterior motive i couldnt care less, you are entitled to your own opinions, as am i, I just don't usually air them in public unless i feel it is required, but at the end of the day facts are facts.....
