Went there recently too. Menu Del Dia was really good. BUT, returned for evening meal that was not nearly as good and for 4 people with one bottle of wine it was 114 euros quite expensive. Will do Menue Del Dia again though.

yes Carol, but we have a choice. The lunchtime menus are great but I don't think they're money makers, more of a taster to tempt us to go for an evening meal. We are on a limited income and take advantage of the deals and really enjoy things we couldn't otherwise enjoy. We're so lucky here to have this choice, but to me everything in La Marina is wonderful xx

Yes, of course, we all have a choice Mazza, and there are some wonderful places to go for a nice meal, but there are others that are a lot more expensive, and if you are on a limited budget, you do need to be careful where you go - especially in the evening.

Carol, we're typical old Brits. From 5 on it's TV. All the programmes I used to laugh at my parents for watching are now top of our early evening viewing list. If I wanted a night out it would be Curry Mahal or if we we're treating family a cheap chinese. Wonderul value. You can make a little dosh go a long way and I love cooking. My favourite times are having pals round for a meal. Something that can be pre prepared . I do starter and main and hubby does puds and makes sure everyone has a drink . Cheese and biscuits with coffee and brandy gives a lovely end to the evening, then very sober hubby drives everyone home. mmmm, lovely

Sounds really good to me Mazza. What kind of prices are we talking about? I recon you would do really well. I just looooooove home cooking.

Maybe a club could be set up where we could go to each others homes. My wifes a dam good cook. She's Moroccan and does a mean cuscuos. Shes actually available for small home parties.

Malcolm I think you have a great idea, and I'm sure you'll get lots of people to join you. Unfortunately we're a couple of old sods who live in a tiny house so can't reciprocate, but I hope you get lots of people to share your idea xxx

Patagonia Steak house has "All you can eat meat feast" for 10 euro per person. For 2 people you get a bottle of good house wine free, so for about 20 euro you can have great meat with chips or jacket patato bottle of wine for 2 people! Beat that for value!

Thanks for your comments mazza. Im not for knocking anyones business unless it concerns food or retirement accommodation for the over 55's as me and the wife are somewhat experts in our fields.

The wife has done a few Moroccan theme nights on the Urb and other places/homes as people might remember and is very good at what she does.

Curry Mahal are friends of ours and we do enjoy their food as we do the chinese restaurant opposite Mercadonas.

Perhaps Carol, you should consider a Moroccan night at your place or a venue of your choosing for you lovely ladies. Good food, Good entertainment and great service. What more do you need!

Patagonias "all you can eat" is excellent! I went the other night and was pleased to see that unlike the usual "buffet" this is cooked to order and very simply they bring you a plate full of meat(steak,lamb chop, pork steak, black pudding & an excellent chorizo) and when you have eaten it all if you want more they bring you the same again! Carnivore heaven!!! Will be back soon.

Hey you forgot theres chicken on the platter! You're right you will not leave there hungry! Try the Argentinian beef. Without doubt its more expensive (14 euro for the rump) but you can really taste the difference! So tender you can almost cut it with your fork! The "all you can eat" is European meat, which is still good, but less than half the price of Argentinian. The "free bottle of wine/jug of beer" still applies for a meal for 2!

we've been there with daughter and son inlaw (Meat eaters) they absolutely loved it and it was fabulous value for money Paul Wallace (greedy son in law) probably ate more meat than ten men but they kept bringing on the meat. He went to a family party where the main was huge pork chops and ate 5.
If ypou haven't been there try it.

Nobody leaves Patagonia hungry, thats for sure!!

as I always say, if you can't find somewhere to go and something to eat in La Marina you're very hard to please. We're so lucky to live here.
