STRIKE DAY ALICANTE AIRPORT

Just to let people know,Have just returned from Alicante Airport,after dropping off a friend for her flight to Birmingham.
Traffic around airport pretty chaotic,strikers very noisy. but got to drop her off,she has phoned back to say she has her boarding card and her gate is opening on time,she is confident of going now,an announcement was made ,but because of noise in terminal,not sure what it said,but sounded like no more flights after 16.00 today,hope this will help.I am know going back as my neighbours are picking up some friends from a flight which we know is airborne,and it may be easier if i go as an extra pair of eyes.Will write on here again when i return

Back from second visit to airport,(NO i AM NOT AN UNLICENSED CAB)took half an hour to go the last 500 metres.
Looks like flights are stopping, the couple we were picking up took 45 minutes to get hold luggage,only one plane landed after their ond did and nothing showing on arrivals board.4th floor of car park (the busiest one)half empty,only a few cabs in the rank,looks ominous for people arriving or departing later today

I have checked the Ryanair website all day and its been updated every half an hour and as far as i can see flights in and out of Alicante are operating normally with only some delays.
If you are flying from or picking up from Alicante please check your airlines website before you leave.

Hi all,
I'm back from UK, sorry about that, no problems or delays( Monarch), in fact plane not full, either a lot of people didn't bother to turn up or missed their flight. It was as Alan stated only two planes on apron like a ghost airport, unreal.Let's hope La Marina isn't going the same way, let's ALL pull together.
