San Fulgencio Football Club

San Fulgencio v Monforte CD.

As usual it seems we are playing catch-up with the leaders. Today the pressure was on us to win and keep 3 points clear of second place. On a cold and windy afternoon it took a while for the game to warm up but 20 minutes later we had two good runs by Aitor on the right wing but no goal. Six minutes late a free kick taken quickly by our captain Fernando was picked up and crossed to Ismael who made no mistake, 1-0. Bernie attracted a lot of attention from their defenders going down to some hard tackling. Just before half time a cross from Ismael to Aitor made it 2-0. When from a corner the ball was sent in low our two forwards just missed touching it into the back of the net. A good attempt by Kale only just flew over the crossbar.

A rash of substitutions took place in the second half allowing all the team to have a game, and bringing on fresh legs made good sense, especially when Mejias scored our third goal, 3-0 to 'The Saints'. The pressure is now on the rest of the league to stay with us. No 'Man of the Match' again this week as they all gave a good account of themselves. More details on our website at ''. Our next match is away at Sporting Saladar on Sunday 24 November with Kick Off at 11.30. If there is any change I will publish on here and on our website. If any one requires directions to their ground please contact me.

Thanks again to our main Sponsor 'Mr Motor of La Marina' and to all our sponsors.

Team - Joserra, Kike(19), Sergio, Kike(5) Víctor(17), Kale, Fernando(capt), Gustavo, Berni, Aitor, Ismael. Subs- Víctor(13), Carlos, Antonio, Mejias, Quino.

Well done to the team, the supporters (Pie makers) and all, another good victory! (No 23 particularly, first goalscorer, then was hounded and had lumps kicked out of him!) Bring on Almoradi..........

That was Bernardo Plasenca Mora. A very good player who runs all day. The other players all do the same though. That's why I did not pick a 'Man Of The Match' for the last two games. With our new manager he seems to let all the gang have a run. This is because we have so much talent 'in depth'. Also the referees over here hand out yellow cards if you look at them funny. It's not unknown for a dozen yellows to be handed out as well as the few he converts into 'red'.
Nice to see you at the match yesterday James and hope to see you and a few more supporters there soon. In Spain success breeds success.

Well San Fulgencio are now TOP of First Regional Group 8 of the Valencian Football League after their stunning 3-0 win on Saturday. This was helped by Torrevieja losing but we are two points clear now and four points ahead of the third placed team. Next week we are away to Sporting Saladar from Almoradi.

Tomorrow's game is in Almoradi at Sporting Saladar's ground. Details are on our website.
If you wish to come to our ground coming from The Urb turn towards San Fulgencio and straight across the first roundabout, over one speed hump, past the school on the right then next right and immediately right again. That takes you into the sports complex area and the ground is in front of you. If you are coming from somewhere else or these instructions are not clear enough please contact me again.
